December 31, 2017

Leilani kneeled down at at Odell's Death stone. "Hey Odell." She slightly smiled.

"How, you been?" Knowing she wasn't gonna get an answer, she sighed. "Well, I'm doing fine. I got my high school diploma." She smiled.

On this day, 2 years ago, marked Odell's death. It was so unexpected. "What's Heaven like?"

Leilani chuckled,"Cool right?" She nodded. "Yea, I know it's amazing up there."

Leilani, tried not to let tears fall, but she couldn't hold it in. "T-This was supposed to be me." Leilani said.

"You didn't deserve to die like this. I'm the one with the disease. This shouldn't of happened."

Leilani wiped her face. "But I know you're looking down on me. I know you're proud of what I'm doing." Leilani smiled.

After Odell died, Leilani knew that he didn't want her to lie in bed and cry everyday. So she didn't.

Leilani did what she wanted to do, Live her Life.

But first, she went back to school, to get her degree. It took a while, but it was worth it. Then, her and Omar took a trip to his hometown, in London.

"I miss you Odell," Leilani said. "And I know you miss me too."

Every once in awhile, Leilani would look in her journal. From December 1st, to when she stopped writing, December 30th.

Leilani, just stared at Odell's stone. "Oh, before I forget." Leilani took out a picture from her pocket.

"Remember this?"

Leilani taped the picture to his stone. It was the picture of when they was in Paris, two years ago, at the restaurant, when he was speaking in French.

"You don't understand, when I found this picture in my junky book bag, I cried." Leilani laughed.

"Oh, and say Hi to Prince for me," Leilani smiled.

"I just wanted to let you know, that I'll always be with you. Sometimes I regret of not loving you, I regret of not showing you affection." Tears started falling down her face.

"Keep it together, Lani. You're strong." She wiped her face again, before taking a deep breath.

"I love you Odell, don't ever forget that." Leilani kissed her fingers, before putting them on the stone.

Leilani stood up and started walking away, knowing he wouldn't say the words;

I love you too.
