Remain calm Em. Don't let him get to you. He's just a stuck up guy with an enormous ego. No need to get all hung up, right?

Right.

After mentally preparing myself, I walked over to where Niall and Harry were.

"Hey Niall, I'm ready whenever you are," I said, hoping he'd be done by now.

"I'm all yours," he responded with a smile.

I smiled back, "Great! Follow me." I said before walking Niall towards my station.

He sat down in front of the mirror and stared up at me as I examined his face.

"Your complexion is already great as it is, so I'm just going to lightly apply some airbrush foundation to your face to get rid of some of the redness, sound fair?" I asked.

"Sure, work your magic," he said grinning.

For a second, I got lost in his smile. His teeth looked perfect, and his eyes seemed to light up. The way his mouth curved up was so flattering.

"You have a nice smile," I told him. Hopefully that wasn't creepy or anything. I just find pleasure in complimenting people and making them feel good about themselves. He smiled even wider now and laughed, "Thank you love."

I smiled back before I began working on applying his foundation.

Harry's POV;

I don't know what it was about Emma, but I was attracted to her.

She was beautiful, but very hard to figure out because every time I talk to her it's like she has this 40 ft tall wall guarding her.

I really want to get to know her, but every shot I get at it she turns me down.

Now, there she was just laughing and joking around with Niall like they've known each other for years. It would probably take me centuries to get to that point with her.

"Hey man, what's wrong? You seem so tense" Zayn asked. I didn't even know he was beside me, or of the fact that my feet were tapping on the floor and I kept fidgeting with my fingers giving the impression that I was nervous.

"What?" I asked looking up at him, hoping to sound innocent. He met my previous gaze, "is that what it is?" He asked pointing at Niall and Emma, "Is it the fact that Emma is having a good time with Niall and not you?"

"No, I didn't even notice her, I was just thinking...that's all," I lied.

"Sure," Zayn said rolling his eyes, obviously not trusting what I said.

"Look I gotta go, it's my turn," I told Zayn before getting up and walking over to Niall and Emma.

Emma's POV;

"Are you almost done?" Harry asked us eagerly.

"Yeah man, sorry for the wait," Niall said as he got up and hugged me tight, "Thanks Em."

"Of course, any time" I said smiling up at him before he left.

Harry took Niall's spot on the chair, and I examined his face really quick. I decided to use my Bobbi Brown foundation palette because Harry needed more coverage on some acne scars that wouldn't have been covered by a simple airbrush application.

I grabbed the palette and a small concealer brush before turning to face him again. I dipped the brush in foundation and began to gently apply it to Harry's face, avoiding eye contact at all costs.

"Why are you being like this Emma?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows.

I groaned in response, "being like what? I'm not being anything."

"You gave me the cold shoulder last night despite the fact that I helped you out twice, and you won't even look at me now" Harry spat back.

"I appreciate your help, don't get me wrong, but you honestly aren't my type and I'm obviously not yours either," I replied.

"How do you know you aren't my type?" Harry asked automatically.

"Because I'm not easy. I don't just sleep with the first guy I see. And judging from your choice last night I can tell that you go for the desperate ones," I said back, "no offense to the girl..."

"God you're so uptight, it's not like I slept with her. We just danced. You don't need to be jealous," he grinned flashing his dimples.

He was cute, I'll give him that, but seriously?

I kept applying his foundation like what he just said didn't phase me.

"I am not jealous. I could care less what you and your big ego think." I said, trying to sound calm.

"I do not have a big ego, I'm sorry if it came off that way. Maybe you're the one with the big ego though...you make it seem like no one is good enough for you and your stuck up personality doesn't help either," Harry said back to me.

I was shocked. Did I seriously come off that way? Excuse me for looking out for myself. I wasn't about to be used up by him. Tyler already played me like a rag doll and I still can't get over him. It's stupid, I know. But it's like every time I think about Tyler, I keep remembering the nice moments we shared. One thing about me is that I always look for the good in people, no matter what they do. And in the end, that always hurts me more than it helps. I want to be over Tyler, but I just can't let go just yet.

"Emma?" Harry asked nervously. I zoned the memories of Tyler out and came back to reality after being caught up in my thoughts. "Em I'm sorry I didn't mean that."

"Don't apologize for your opinion," I said back quietly.

"I didn't mean it, I just got angry," he said softly.

"It's cool," I said, even though his words left a painful mark on me.

"I've finished, you can go now." I quickly turned from him and began to pack the products back into my kit. I just want to get out of here and away from him in particular.

"Listen, I'm busy tonight but maybe some other time we can grab coffee?" Harry asked.

"I don't think that's such a good idea. Plus I wouldn't want you to have to pencil me into your busy schedule." I said as I grabbed all my things and went over to Jessica who was working on Louis.

"Hey, I'm gonna leave early today. Do you think you can do the touch ups on your own throughout the day?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I'm totally okay," she said.

"Great," I said as I was made my way to the door, "oh, and it was great meeting you guys! Good luck!"

"You too, thank you!" Four lovely young men cheered. Harry kept quiet.

Once I made it past the door I half ran to my car. I needed to go and talk to Amber,

"Hey Am, what's up? Are you busy now?" I texted her. A minute later she responded,

"Hi Em! I'm not busy, wanna come over? I need your help with something!"

"Sure, I'll be over in a few!" I responded.

In half an hour, I made it to her house and up her porch. I rang the door bell and she quickly answered with a big hug.

"Omg, I'm glad you're here! I need your help."

"Hello, to you too Amber," I said sarcastically with a smile, "I have so much to tell you."

"Me too, but first can you help me pick something out for my date tonight?" She asked.

"Yeah sure, who's the guy?" I asked as we walked up to her room.

"The man who helped you carry me to my car last night," she said in a peppy voice, "remember him?"

How could I forget...
