Today, Dan mentioned that I'd be meeting with a new client who was on the managing team of a singer.

Supposedly, the guy came all the way from LA to talk about special effects designs and what not he wanted for a music video.

I walked into work, and headed straight into the makeup department to set my things down before making my way over to Dan's office to see when the guy was arriving.

I knocked on his door,
"Come in," Dan called out.

I slowly pushed the door open and walked in,

"Hey Dan, " I greeted him.

"Emma! How was your weekend?" Dan smiled.

"It was good, fun while it lasted," I smiled back.

"Im glad! Look you came just at the right time," Dan began, "the client that I was telling you about is here. He went to the washroom just now and-"

Dan paused as he got up and averted his gaze to behind me.

I followed it and found a tall man with gorgeous blue eyes standing in the doorway.

His chiseled face had a five o'clock shadow, and his jet black quiffed hair was neatly styled. He had on a grey suit with a black button down shirt.

I was not expecting him to be that good looking. I mean the guy could pass as Ian Somerhalder for gods sake.

"Emma, this is Matthew our new client. Matthew this is Emma, she will be taking over from here and helping you settle your ideas out," Dan said introducing us.

"Hi," I extended my hand, "nice to meet you."

He grabbed a hold of my hand and shook it, "pleasure is all mine."

I swear he held on to it for longer than one should, so I kindly pulled my hand out from his.

I shifted my gaze back to Dan, "I'll show Matthew over to the makeup studio and we can start our meeting there," I told Dan, "does that sound like a plan?"

"Sounds great! Let me know if you need anything!"

I smiled at Dan as I walked past him and motioned for Matthew to follow me. He shut the door behind us as we started down the hallway.

"So, I hear you're part of management for some singer," I broke the awkward silence.

"Yeah," Matthew replied smiling at me, "I work with Adam Lambert."

"Oh, that's pretty cool! I've always liked his style," I replied.

"Yeah he's a cool guy, and he's fun to work with," Matthew said as we walked into the studio.

I shut the door and pointed to the glass table in the room, "Matthew, feel free to take a seat, I just need to get my portfolio and a notepad from my bag."

"Please call me Matt," he said as he made his way over to an empty seat. He lifted his messenger bag and set it on the table as he pulled documents out of it.

I found my things and joined Matt again,"So, what can kind of look is Adam going for?"

Matt rested his hands on the table and interlaced them as he leaned forward, "Adam has this new song coming out and he wanted the people in the music video to have a supernatural/mystical look to themselves."

"I can show you some of the work we've done in terms of creating things like that and maybe you can show me references or ideas that you had also?" I replied, opening my portfolio and taking the stack of pictures out.

"Yeah that would be great," Matt said as he pulled a piece of paper out.

While I was flipping open my notepad, I sneaked a peak up at him only to find his eyes locked down on my boobs.

What the hell is his problem? My eyes are up here and not down there dumbass.

I cleared my throat, hoping to change his gaze.

I was feeling really uncomfortable at this point, did this guy like me or something?

First he's holding onto my hand for longer than usual and now staring at my breasts.

"Just let me get a pen, and we can get started," I said as I placed my hands on the table and pushed myself up off my chair. I needed to get away from him.

But, before I could fully get off my seat, Matt placed his hand on mine,
"Dont worry, I have an extra pen you could use."

Great.

I pulled my hand out again from his grip before sitting down. I brushed a few strands of hair behind my ear while ignoring his gaze,
"Thanks," I lied, grabbing the pen from his hand.

I began showing him photo after photo of some looks that Adam might like. All the while, I jotted down notes of Matt's comments on each picture, paying special attention to what he said he did and didn't like.

Matt also listed and reviewed the stuff Adam talked to him about personally, which I was quick to take note off.

He wanted dark colors with hints of aqua, teal, mint, and magenta.

It had been noon by the time we finished discussing everything.

We were packing up our things quietly when Matt broke the silence,
"That's a nice necklace, it looks good on you," he complimented.

"Thanks, my boyfriend gave it to me," I said still focusing on putting the pictures away in my folder.

"Oh...." Matt sounded hurt, "well, he has good taste."

"Mhmm," I mumbled. Wait, was he talking about the necklace or me?

Before I had a chance to really think about it and a remark to say back, Matt got up, "Thanks for your time Emma, I appreciate it."

I stood up as well and grabbed my bag, "Yeah, anytime."

Matt walked to the door and opened it. I followed him and he motioned for me to go first.

"Thanks," I quickly whispered as I exited. Matt followed and shut the door behind us.

We walked back into Dan's office and Matt let him know that the meeting went by smoothly. He thanked him for his time and shook his hand. They set up to have another meeting soon before Matt headed toward the door.

"Are you going to go on your lunch break now Emma?" Dan asked as I was placing the folders in my hand back into my bag.

"Uh...yeah," I nodded.

"You know what," Matt turned around as he was about to grab the door handle, "I was just going to get lunch as well. Why doesn't Emma join me? We could discuss the music video further in detail."

I looked over at Matt and gave him the deadliest stare I could possibly make.

Who on earth does he think he is?

You can't just make me go to lunch with you like that. Especially when I told you I have a boyfriend.

"No, that's not necessary," I urged.

"I think that's a great idea!" Dan agreed, "I want to make sure that this video of Lambert's is going to be amazing! Emma would love to spend more time discussing it, wouldn't you Emma?" Dan looked over at me, clearly demanding that I go with Matt.

I exhaled before faking a smile, "Yeah, sure I'd love to."

Hopefully Dan bought it.

"Great!" Matt exclaimed as he opened the door, "Thanks again, Dan."

I stormed out, clearly upset and annoyed with Matt for being a control freak. I didn't even bother waiting for him to catch up with me as I walked out of the building and to the parking lot.

"Emma!" He shouted. I heard his foot steps getting closer, "EMMA WAIT!"

I didn't bother slowing down or even turning to face him. I just kept walking towards my car, but Matt was quick to catch up.

He ran infront of me, bringing me to a stop. I looked up into his blue eyes and glared at him.

"Emma..." he said once more before gasping for air.

I folded my arms, "What the hell is wrong with you? I told you I have a boyfriend already!"

Matt straighened his posture and took a deep breath, "I wasn't trying to make a move on you or anything. I just thought maybe I could treat you to lunch since you took the time to meet with me and make sure everything would be perfect for the video shoot."

"What, so that was a good enough reason to practically force me into going with you in front of my boss?!" I shouted back, "You are not professional at all!"

"Look, I knew if I asked you in the studio you would have declined. It's not like it's a date or anything, I promise. It's just two colleagues having lunch, that's all. Come on, I'll drive us and it will be my treat."

"Why are you so hung up on going with me?" I questioned.

Matt groaned, "I'm not. I just thought it'd be nice to have lunch with you. You seem like a good person and besides I don't want to eat alone. Please, Emma?"

I exhaled deeply, "Fine, but don't expect anything out of this."

I swear Matt's face lit up when those words left my mouth.

God this was such a bad idea. It's not like I really wanted to go, but I knew Dan would ask me about this tomorrow and I didn't want to have to lie and make up an excuse for why I didn't go with Mr.demanding over here.

Matt showed me to his car and opened the passengers side door for me,"I know how to open doors, you know?" I groaned before getting in.

Matt smiled "My apologizes for trying to be a gentleman," He replied before shutting the door and getting into the drivers seat.

"So, what are we craving? Italian? Chinese?" He questioned.

"Surprise me," I shrugged.
With that, Matt put his car into drive and began heading to our lunch location.
