I woke up sweating with my heart racing like crazy.

When will the nightmares go away?

It's the same terrifying dream over and over again: Tyler coming home from work screaming, calling me things I never would have expected. Then it's him running upstairs and packing his things. When I follow him to our bedroom he keeps telling me how useless I am. How much of a waste I've been to him. Then just like that, he's gone.

I shook my head to get those thoughts from my dream out.

What time was it? I turned around and faced my alarm clock, 4 am.

I groaned and flipped back over trying to fall asleep considering I had the day off, but I couldn't get comfortable. The birds kept chirping outside, so there was no point in me trying to sleep now.

I sluggishly got out of bed and made my way over to my desk. I logged onto Facebook and tumblr knowing that these two sites would distract me for the next couple hours.

7 am rolled by and my stomach made an awkward dying whale noise. I was undoubtedly hungry.

I got up and headed over to my wardrobe to pick something to wear. I settled on an over-sized beige sweater, a mustard colored scarf, and black skinny jeans. I grabbed my messenger bag laying beside my desk and packed my laptop into it before walking over to my nightstand and grabbing my phone. I made my way downstairs, and out the door heading to a cozy little coffee shop that was 3 blocks away.

As I was walking there, I decide to ask Niall and see if he'd like to get coffee with me, "Good morning Niall, it's Emma from yesterday. How are you?" I texted.

Hopefully he was awake at by now. I continued walking when I felt my phone buzz in my hand.

Thank god, he's up.

Niall: "Hey Emma! I'm doing good, kind of hungry though. How are you?"

"I'm doing good too. Do you want to get some coffee at Cafè Luce?" I replied.

He immediately texted back: "Yes, sounds delicious. Meet you there in a few." I smiled at his response and continued towards the shop.

"Good morning Mary," I said with a smile as I walked through the coffee shop's door. I've been coming here for years, and I've grown to be close with Mary and her sweet family.

"Hey, sweetheart," Mary chimed in, "can I get you your usual?"

She always knew how to warm my heart with her kindness, "yes, please!"

I paid for my vanilla latte + blueberry muffin and headed over to an empty booth. I set up my laptop and slowly began sipping on my latte as I waited for Niall. 15 minutes later I got another text from him.

"I'm almost there .xx"

"Okay :) take your time."

After 5 minutes the shop's door dinged from being opened, and I figured it was Niall. Two seconds later, someone sat down right across from me. I took my focus off of my laptop and looked up smiling. But, immediately seeing who it was my smile fell.

It definitely was not Niall.
