I didn't convince myself with that lie, but I'm hoping Harry bought it.
Meeting someone new was the last thing I wanted to do right now.
"Well" I paused placing the last box I had on top of an already tall pile of boxes, "I guess I better go find something to wear for the blind date. See you and Amber there. Hopefully your 'plans' don't cause you to cancel because I'm really looking forward to tonight," I said to Harry while forcing a smile.
I could tell that he was definitely buying it now because his eyes stared back into my eyes with nothing but pain.
I walked past him, and headed out the door acting as if I didn't care about him in the slightest.
Harry's POV;
"Em," I called out chasing after her, "Emma wait!"
I was too late, she had already gotten into her car and was backing up out of the driveway. I threw my fists in the air, exhaling roughly through my nose.
This was exactly what I was afraid of.
Emma's POV;
Once I got home, I headed upstairs to find something to wear before I had to start packing all my clothes to take to Amber's. I don't even know why I agreed to this stupid blind double date thing, but I can't back out now. Especially since I know that it will make Harry jealous. Seeing him all lovey dovey with Amber did hurt me, even though it shouldn't have.
I found a peachy pink chiffon dress that I figured would look nice on me and paired it with some nude pumps. I tossed the outfit aside and began packing all my other clothes in boxes, when Amber texted,
"Be ready at 7pm. Harry and I decided on going to Olive Garden for the double date!"
"Cool, meet you guys there," I sent back before continuing to get all my packing done by 7.
I managed to finish around 5 pm, which still gave me plenty of time to get ready. I walked into the bathroom to take a shower.
As soon as I looked in the mirror, I realized how bad my eye got. The faint bruise from earlier turned into a much deeper purple now.
Fuck.
After my shower, I wrapped a towel around my body and headed over to my vanity to tackle the big problem: covering the bruised black eye.
It wasn't easy, but with tons and tons of makeup plus 30 minutes of hard work the bruise looked 100 times better and was barely noticeable.
I finished getting ready around 6:20 pm. Right on time.
I shut off all the lights and headed out the door, locking up before walking to the restaurant which was roughly 10 blocks away.
Harry's POV;
"There she is!" Amber shouted pointing over to a table that Emma was sitting at.
Em looked up smiling and waved at Amber. She was absolutely stunning. I hadn't seen her this dressed up since the night I met her.
"I'm going to the ladies room," Amber said placing her jacket on the seat diagonal of Emma, "I won't be long."
Emma nodded her head and looked back down at her menu. I took the seat across from her and sat down, adjusting my blazer. I looked at her, studying the way she flipped through the menu.
"You look very pretty tonight," I finally got the courage to talk to her.
She looked up at me with a confused look. "N-not that you don't look pretty everyday," I added, "but tonight you just...you look-" I was totally blanking.
