Why would Tyler text me now?

I felt a pit in my stomach as I opened the text.

Tyler: Emma we need to talk. Meet me at the park.

"Emma, are you okay?" Harry interrupted.

"What? Yeah of course I'm fine why wouldn't I be?" I asked defensively.

"Your face looks pale and you're breathing is off," he pointed out.

"Well I'm fine. I think I'm gonna go to bed now. Thanks for the help Harry," I said opening the front door for him.

He looked super confused, and I don't blame him, "uh, okay... you're welcome," he said as he walked out the door giving me an awkward look.

I waited until Harry left before I made my way over to the park.

I hadn't seen Tyler for weeks now. When I reached the park, there were barely any people there. I looked around in search of him. My heart stopped and my feet felt numb once I spotted him. It took everything in me not to turn in the other direction and run. But, I gained the courage to walk over to him.

"What do you want Tyler?" I asked him sternly.

He stood up and walked over to me, almost stumbling over. "Emma baby!" He slurred as he looked into my eyes.

I shook my head in disgust. He was absolutely hammered. "Tyler you're drunk."

He laughed and tried to put his arm around me, "I miss you Emma, come back to me."

I pushed him away aggressively, "You're a stupid jerk Tyler!! There is no way in hell I'd ever take you back. Go cry to your little tramp from work."

His expression darkened. Tyler raised his hand into a fist and before I knew it I was on the floor in pain. He had punched me right between my eyes,"I always knew you were a waste Emma! I always try to help you out and you ruin everything. How foolish was I to want you back" he spat.

Before he could do anything else I quickly got up to my feet and ran. I didn't stop the whole way from the park home. I opened the front door and slammed it shut, leaning my back against it. I slowly sank down to the floor bursting in tears.
