The

Princess' Freedom

Chapter 20

"Michelle, Christan!" The girl said as soon as she opened the door. "Daddy's here!"

"Daddy!" Lucas heard two little voices shout. He smiled. It wasn't often anymore that he got to see his two kids, but he loved them like no other. They were his world. Everyone in both his village and this one knew that, and no one dared make fun of him because of it.

"There are my two little ones." He said, picking them both up and spinning them around. He out them down, then looked behind him, over to Ellie. He smiled at her, causing a bright smile to come over her face. "Hey, I want you two to meet some people."

"Who?" They both asked at the same time. Lucas smiled and motioned for Ellie to walk over to him. She did that quickly, which caused Lucas' smile to grow even brighter.

"This is Ellie." He said. He turned to Ellie then. "Ellie, this is my daughter Michelle and my son Christan." The kids smiled at Ellie.

"Hi, Ellie." They said, bright smiles on their faces. Ellie smiled at them both, saying hi and resting her head on Lucas' shoulder. The twins' mother smiled.

"You must be his new girl." She said. "I'm Lizzy."

"Ellie." She said, her smile shifting to one that showed just how shy and nervous she was. Lucas noticed the change and quickly grabbed her hand in his. This caused her to look over at him. Her smiled brightened when she saw the look he had on. Lizzy smiled at the two.

"You two look good together." she said. Then she turned to Ashton, who just so happened to be talking quietly with Liberty.

"And who is this?" She asked Ashton. Lucas looked over to his friend and Liberty, who he had forgotten about.

"Lizzy, you remember Ashton, right?" He asked. Lizzy nodded.

"I know him. I was talking about the girl who so obviously has gained every once of his attention." She said, smiling over at the two, who still weren't paying any attention.

"That's Liberty. She's staying with us for a bit." He said. Liberty heard her name and her attention snapped to them instead of Ashton. Lucas smiled at her. Ellie had told him what happened with her and Liberty on the girl's day and he was both happy and a little hesitant. He knew that those two would be great together, but with Ashton's veiws right now, he was worried Liberty would get hurt. Ashton had absoulutly no intention of going out with her. Liberty liked him. She would love to go out with him. It was obvious too. He was afraid that Ashton would turn Liberty down though, and that would break her little heart. He knew that she was falling in love with Ashton. It was obvious. Ashton was falling for her too, he just wouldn't admit it. As much as he loved the guy he's considered a brother all of his life, Liberty was already becoming his little sister. Ashton could handle himself. Liberty, on the other hand, needed someone to protect her. He had a feeling he would hurt Ashton if he ever did anything to hurt Liberty.

"Hi." she said, not daring to move away from Ashton. He grabbed her hand, which she put in a death grip. It was easy to see the fear, the shyness, the nervousness. Liberty wasn't one that liked being around new people. She had to trust you to really be herself. That's was one of the reasons she needed someone to protect her. It took her a bit to trust Ellie, and she still didn't compleatly trust her yet. Ashton and himself where some of the few people she did trust.

"She's a bit shy." Ashton said, smiling a reasurring smile down at her. She smiled up at him shyly. That was new. Lucas figured it was just because she realized she liked him. Ellie smiled at them, which Lucas noticed. He just shook his head, smiling at his little matchmaker.
