The

Princess' Freedom

Chapter 26

Ashton ran over to Liberty, easily picking the lock on the handcuffs. He grabbed her in her arms, taking her outside as men piled into the house, making sure none of Marcus' men made it out of this. They had gone against the throne, and the sentence for that is death. This way just made it easier for everyone.

Marcus Lurantas, Libery's Kidnapper, would never see the light of day again.

"You came to get me." Libetry said once they made it to the van. Ashton looked at her as if she was crazy.

"Of course I came for you. I hardley slept because I was always looking for you. It took us almost a week to find out where you were." He said. "I would never leave you in someone's hands like that."

"I figured you didn't want to find me." She said. That broke Ashton. He knew why she felt that way. The girl.

"I'm sorry about that girl, Liberty. Besides, I don't like her. She's not important to me. You are." He said. "You are the most important thing to me."

"Then why where you with her?" She asked, tears in her eyes. He knew they shouldn't be having this conversation here, but they would be here till everything was over. King Elliot and Lucas where riding back with them, and they both said they were not leaving that house till every one of those men were dead.

"Becuase I was trying to forget what I was feeling." he said. Liberty looked confused. "I liked you, but I wasn't going to try anything. You deserved a life away from that castle, and to be honest, I had been in love before, and was afraid of falling in love again. She had left, and I never wanted to feel that kind of pain again. I didn't know you liked me. If I did I would have thought more about what I was doing. I didn't really realize how stupid I was being untill you ran out of my room near tears and disappeared."

"Do you still like me?" She asked. Ashton shook his head. "Oh.

"I love you Liberty. I didn't realize that until we knew you had been kidnapped." He said. "That's why I couldn't sleep. I had failed the first girl I had fallen in love with, and because of that she ended up dead. Then, you were taken. There was a great chance that I wouldn't see you alive ever again. It was like everything was going to happen again. The girl I had fallen in love with would end up dead, and my heart shattered."

"You... you love me?" She asked. He nodded.

"I love you Liberty. It just took me way to long to realize it."

***********

"I love you Liberty. It just took me way to long to realize it." he said. Liberty felt like crying then. She had plenty of time to think when she was stuck in that place, and she knew what she felt. She knew she loved him too. He was the only person that she would ever trust with her heart in that way. The one and only person.

"I love you too, Ashton." She said. He looked at her, first with shook, then with happiness.

"It just took a very bad situation for us to figure it out, huh?" He asked, holding her close.

"Yeah. A very, very bad situation." She said. They were leaning closer and closer together. Finally, after what seemed like forever to her, his lips landed on hers.

The kiss didn't last long, but it was filled with love.

Of course, it wasn't going to be an easy happily ever after.
