Chapter 24

"What's his name?" Lucas asked. He nodded, writting it down on a piece of paper. "Who figured this out? Her father? Why is he helping?"

Lucas was ashtonished when he hung up. Never had he imagined the King helping them find his missing daughter. King Elliot was not a big fan of Liberty's.

"What's up?" Ellie asked, walking into his room. Lucas smiled.

"We might have a lead on who has Liberty." He said. "I'm going to call the men and asked them to watch him. I need to do some checking up on him too."

"What about Ashton?" She asked. He sighed.

"He need's to sleep. I'll get everything organized then wake him up." He said. Ellie nodded.

"That sounds good. He does need his sleep." she said.

"So do you. You haven't slept that much either." he said. She nodded, laying down in his bed. She had already took a shower and changed into her nightclothes. "I'll go in the living room and let you rest. I'll come back in when I'm done with everything."

"Alright. Don't forget to wake Ashton and tell him." She said, yawning. Lucas smiled at his girlfriend.

"I will. Now, go to sleep. I'm already worried about Liberty, I don't want to worry about you too." He said. Ellie smiled.

"Alright." She said, closing her eyes. "Night."

"Night, baby. I'll lay down with you in a little bit."

"M'kay."

"Is everything already set up?" Ashton asked. Lucas nodded. "Good. Tell me again, who told the queen this?"

"King Elliot." Lucas said. Ashton knew he looked shocked. He never expected King Elliot to help find his missing daughter. He wasn't her biggest fan after all. "I know, I'm surprised too."

"I want to know why he's helpping us now. He never cared before. Why does he care now?" Ashton asked, right as his phone started ringing.

"Hello?" Ashton asked.

"Ashton Grey?" A deep, male voice asked.

"This is he." Ashton said.

"This is King Elliot. I understand that you've been searching for my daughter?" He said. Ashton was shocked. Not only was King Elliot helping them in their search, but calling to ask about it also.

"Yes, we are, Sir." He said.

"You are also the one's who got her out of this castle?" He asked.

"Yes, sir." Ashton said.

"My wife asked you to do it. I know that. She told me." He said. "I'm calling to thank you. I know it may not seem like it, but my daughter does mean a lot to me. There are some very dangerous people that are against my family, and I knew they would use Liberty to get to us. That's why I treated her like I did. If she feared me, she wouldn't go against me. I would rather have her fear and hate me than be like her mother, because than there would've been a better chance of them hurting her."

"Is that why you're helping us?" Ashton asked.

"Yes, son, that is why I'm helping you. Not everything I've done to her should have. I wanted her shy and obedint. I went about that the wrong way though. The man I named had been a friend of mine's son. When I found out that my friend and his family where working against my family, tried to get rid of the son. I figured that, that would be who had her, and for that same reason. He could also be helping the others against us, though." King Elliot said. Ashton nodded.

"I get why you wanted her like that. I am not so happy about that happened though. We've got men watching this guy right now. As soon as we know for sure we'll go in to get her." He said. King Elliot sighed.

"I'll be coming with you. I'll bring the money too. It'll be best that way." He said. Ashton nodded again.

"Alright, Sir. I'll contact you soon about if she is there or not." Aston told him.

"Son, I want to know something. My wife mentioned to me something she thought she saw. I was wondering if it was true."

"What, sir?" Ashton asked, puzzled.

"Do you like my daughter?" He asked.

"No, Sir."

"Do you love my daughter?"

"Yes, sir, I do." Ashton said.

"Why did she leave? Did she know this?" King Elliot asked. Ashton got up and walked back into his room. He didn't want Lucas hearing the rest of this conversation.

"I hadn't realized I loved her untill she was taken. I knew I liked her, but I was not going to pursue anything. She needed to live a life away from the palace. That's where I would be working. I went out and brought a girl home, thinking she was asleep in her room. She caught us and got upset. She left shotly after, we couldn't even get to her in time before she climbed out her window. She was taken around then. We thought she had went to a friend of ours. We never knew about these men coming after her, so we never thought to automaticaly follow. My friend convinced me to wait and let her calm down before we went over to where we believed she was. And as for the other question, no, she doesn't know."

"Well, when we get her back, make it up to her. She need's someone like you. You're the only person I'd want my daughter to be with." King Elliot said, hanging up the phone. Ashton sighed. He was ready to see her again. He needed to make everything up to her. He just wanted her back in his arms.
