Chapter 23

It had been a week, and Ashton still hadn't come for her. She thought he just forgot all about her. She figured he was at home snuggling with the blonde on his bed.

That image nearly broke heart into even tinier peices. She had been thinking like this everyday, and it just slowly broke her heart even more. That wasn't the only thing that broke her though.

She never thought about what he would do to her. She never thought he'd actually do anything. They had known eachother since they were at least five. She never thought he could be so cruel.

He didn't just leave emotional scars. There were the brusies, the cuts, the wounds. She was pretty sure she would kill herself if she had to spend even longer here.

She couldn't believe it had only been a week. To her it seemed like an eternity. She had never meet someone so cruel. He was even worse than her father.

At least her father never dared do that to her. Sure there had been the slaps, the long, hard days of working constantly. She would take that over this anyday though.

She was sure she was going to die in this dreadful place.

She just whished she could see Ashton one more time.

****************

Two day's earlier.

"Ash, did you find anything?" Lucas asked, walking into his best-friends room. Ashton just shook his head.

"Nope. I called Queen Eliza and asked if it could possibly be someone from the castle that had had a problem with her. She said she'd get the old records and call me back." He said.

In his mind, he was going over everything Liberty had ever told him. Nothing ever stood out though. Every man her father had had already been carefully watched, and nothing came up. It would almost have to be somebody that knew her from before. All of the local gangs had been watched too. Nothing had shown up. Nothing was conecting.

He couldn't sleep either. not without knowing she was safe. He had hurt her enough. He didn't want someone else to break her even more.

He had realized he was in love with her the night she was taken. After he had returned from Ellie's he just layed on her bed, thinking. That was when he realized it.

Ashton had been in love before, and he knew how it felt when she left his life. He didn't want that to happen with Liberty. He wanted her back. He wanted to be able to try and make it up to her. He wanted her in his arms, safe and sound. He couldn't sleep until she returned, that he was sure of. He needed her there.

"Ash, you need sleep." Lucas said. "Libetry will be found, and we'll bring her back. In the meantime, we need you one-hundred percent. You won't be until you sleep though."

"I need to be awake for when Queen Eliza calls back." He said. He didn't want to try to sleep. The times he did always ended up in him dreaming about what her kidnapper was doing to her.

"No, you don't want to sleep because you'll see your little fantasies about what that idiot that took her is doing to her." Ellie said. Lucas sighed.

"There are some pills in the cabnet in the bathroom that'll stop the dreams and help you sleep. I'll talk to the queen when she calls." Lucas said. Ashton just shook his head.

"No." He said. "I'm going to finish this out."

"Ashton, Liberty will want you to rest. She needs you to be as rested and ready as possible, so you can go fight for her when you find her." Ellie said. AShton sighed.

"You're right." He said. "I'm going to take a shower and head to bed."

Lucas smiled. "Good. You need it." he said.

"Make sure to write down all of the names. I need to be able to look up and watch everyone of them." Ashton said from the doorway. Lucas nodded.

"I will. Go get some sleep."
