Anya's POV:
After dinner I saw Toph go out into the garden and then saw Aang go after her.Anya: Maybe I should go and make sure they are not going to kill each other.
Katara: Might be a good idea.
I nod and then make my way out to the garden where I see Toph and Aang talking in the center of the garden. I walk toward them and sit down.
Aang: Oh hey Anya.
Anya: Hey Aang, what are you guys doing out here by yourselves?
Aang: Just talking.
Anya: About?
They both just look up and ignore my question.
Anya: Aang can I talk to Tooh for a minute?
He nods and walks back toward the house. I scoot over closer to Toph and look straight into her eyes.
Anya: Look, I know what it's like to be protected your entire life-
Toph: Aang told me that you have traveled around a lot of your life, that does not sound like you are being protected all the time like me.
Anya: Maybe I got to travel around but I was always being watched by my mother and father AND my older sister. I know what it feels like to have people think that you don't know what you are doing and are to helpless to hold your own. It took losing my sister to realize that....they might have been right, everybody needs somebody, when she was gone I felt a huge hole in my soul that will never close, your parents may not be the ones who need to protect you but don't go as far to dismiss them.
Toph: They just don't understand.
Anya: Then make them understand.
Toph looks up at me with tears in her eyes and then wraps her tiny arms around me.
