Aangs POV:
Anya and I finally found Katara, and Zuko, still not really sure how I feel about that but oh well, the world is in a weird place, why shouldn't we be as well.
After we all have our little reunions Zuko starts to yell at Iroh.
Zuko: Uncle! What are you doing with the airbenders!?
Aang: Saving your butt that's what!
Iroh: Zuko, him and his friends helped me find you, don't let your old habits come back, you are stronger and freer than you have ever been!
Just as we think Iroh is actually knocking some sense into Zuko we hear a rumbling and who should show up but his crazy sister and a bunch of Dai Lee agents.....just great.
Anya's POV:
Why is it that every time we seem to be getting somewhere good stuff like this happens!!!? And just when I thought things couldn't get any worse the Dai Lee capture Iroh! Katara, Aang, Zuko and I get into fighting stances.
Azula: I expected this kind of treachery from Uncle but Zuko, Prince Zuko, you're a lot of things but you're not a traitor are you?
Zuko: Release him immediately!
Azula: It doesn't have to be this way Zuko, you can come back to the fire nation with me, you can have fathers love, you can have everything you have ever wanted.
Iroh: The kind of redemption she offers is not for you.
Azula: WHY DON'T YOU LET HIM DECIDE UNCLE!?
Iroh: Zuko, I am begging you, look into your heart and see what it is you truly want.
My breath hitches in my throat, please Zuko, don't do anything stupid.
Zuko: I'm sorry.
And with that he joins Azula on the opposite side and starts to shoot fire in our direction. Zuko focuses on Aang, the Dai Lee on Katara and, lucky me, I get crazy.
Anya: Why is it that every time I see you I hate you more and more! I didn't think that was possible!
Azula pretends not to hear me and pelts me with more blue fireballs. I block it with ice and jump on an air scooter to try and surprise her from behind, that doesn't work, two Dai Lee agents see me and force a giant rock from the ground to knock me into the wall....ow.
As I am regaining my footing I overhear Katara and Zukos conversation.
Katara: I THOUGHT YOU HAD CHANGED!?
Katara pelts him with icicles.
Zuko: I have changed!
You know I'm really starting to not want to redeem this guy, we always seem to throw him a rope and instead of grabbing it he strangles is with it!
I regaining my footing and rush back over to Azula on a giant block of ice all the while shooting sharp icicles at her and the Dai Lee. I manage to knock a lot of them unconscious which leads me to smile and do a small victory fist bump.....unfortunately that leaves me distracted and I don't see the sharp rock coming at my side.
I feel a sharp pain but manage to keep my balance.
Anya: STOP WITH THE STABBING WILL YOU! This is like my millionth time getting stabbed by the fire nation!
In return I send a massive wave at Azula and several Dai Lee Agents which holds them off for a minute but not long enough, as I'm trying to build another wave I'm not quick enough to see the giant lightning strike coming right for my heart.
Aangs POV:
As I'm battling with Zuko and a few Dai Lee agents I see Anya fighting off Azula, she's doing really well! She even used the air scooter! My breath hitches when I see her get cut but a rock but she manages to not let that stop her, Katara can always heal that later, but then my heart completely stops when I see a boy of lightning hit her directly in the heart!
Aang: NO!
Katara: ANYA!
Aang: KATARA! YOU GET ANYA I'LL HANDLE AZULA!
Azula: Well aren't you a big boy now! You want me? Come and get me.
I look over as Katara is creating a giant wave to get to Anya all the while trying to fight off Dai Lee agents. We are too outnumbered.
Aang: I'm sorry Katara.
I encase myself in ice and meditate. I feel myself start to lift off the ground, I couldn't believe it, I was able to get myself in to the Avatar State! Unfortunately my celebration was short lived as I felt the most intense pain shoot through my back.
Kataras POV:
I see Anya get struck by lighting and immediately rush into action! I hear Aang telling me to grab her while he takes on Azula, I don't like that idea but unfortunately we are out of options, I make a giant wave and get over to Anya who is lying too still, I wrap her in my arms and hold her close as I watch Aang enter the Avatar state! He did it!
I see him lifting up into the air, when my heart drops into my stomach, Azula shot him!
Katara: NO!
I can't loose them both! I make another wave and get to him as fast as I can, as I'm holding both the airbenders in my arms I see Iroh break out of his restraints and get into a fighting stance.
Iroh: You have to get out of here, I'll hold them off as long as I can!
I nod in a silent thank you and try my best to hold both of them up. How am I suppose to get both of them on Appa, I can't bend while holding hem both. As if on cue Sokka, Toph and the Earth King come riding in on Bosco. I see the look in their eyes and they come charging towards us.
Sokka: ANYA!
Sokka comes sliding in on his knees and takes her from me.
Sokka: No no no no no no stay with me Anya, come on stay with me grab my hand, come on!
I can see tears streaming down his face.
Katara: Sokka as soon as we get them on Appa I can heal them, but we have to hurry.
I see him trying to be strong but I know how he must be feeling. He picks Anya up and we make our way to Appa.
Once we load them both on o get to work trying to heal them. I work on Anya first since hers was right to the heart, I see the spirit water glow in my hands as I press it to her chest. We all wait with baited breath, nothing happens.
Sokka: No! No! Anya! Look at me! Come on you can do it!
I start to cry when Anya let's put a shaky breath.
Sokka: Anya! Hey hey it's ok just look at me ok? Just hold my hand, you're ok, you're gonna be ok.
I smile though I remember I still have hang to hold out hope for, I grab Anya's spirit water and do the same technique, again the water glows in my palm as I press it to Aangs back. We all wait and again nothing happens.
I start to sob, when Aangs arrows light up and he, as well, let's out a shaky breath. I turn him over and smile as he smiles back.
We look over at the smoke filled air that is Ba Sing Se as Sokka and I hold the airbenders in our arms.
The Earth King: The Earth Kingdom.....has fallen.
