Simon's pov

15:30

Bang on time, not late. I was bare nervous, I didn't really know why, it was just a feeling, but I had a thought that it was about how Jo got on at school. She finished the term just after we started dating, and got a whole load more time off because she finished her GCSEs. Now she was back to a normal schedule, I'd be back at the house without her for quite a while.
"Hey," she got in the car and let out a deep breath. We reached in for a little peck on the lips.
She smiled. "This seems weird, like you're my dad or something."
I laughed. "Ugh no!"
"Sorry about last night." I said, driving off.
"About what?" She looked at me.
"Apparently I was drunk, and passed out on the sofa. And I didn't wake up this morning to take you to school." I bit my lip. Jo was my responsibility now, she's mine, and I love her, I need her, she needs me, and I have to care for her.
She chuckled. "It's alright. Not the first time."
"You look really nice in glasses." She smiled. I blushed. "Thanks. But I don't like them." I replied.
"You look really cute, you should wear them more." She said. I tugged her ear. "No."
She sighed.
"Do you need to pick up anything from your Aunts place?" I asked.
"No, I've got everything, thanks. We've got new textbooks and everything, so there's no need." She said. Sometimes I wish I'd never cared so much about grades, because it doesn't really affect me with what I do now, but I didn't want Jo to be like that. Gosh I'm not her Dad. That's Josh. Josh did care and keep an eye out for Jo, and I appreciate it, but I didn't want it to be like that. She can look after herself, she's a strong girl. But love is different, I know she needs me.
"Does your Aunt even go back to the house?"
I should'nt have asked that. She doesn't like talking about her aunt.
"I have absolutely no idea." She smiled. "I guess so, I mean where else would she go? She's not that messed up, just doesn't like me."
There was a short silence. I rubbed her thigh. "Do you want to do anything this weekend - not erm - just go out? I mean, you're going to be out till three-thirty every day now."
"Sure." She replied.
"I really missed you while you were at school." I said. "Even though it was only three hours."
"Me too."
