I just gawked at Mr O’Miles as he walked straight past me and right into my kitchen, my mouth was slightly open and I only got out of my state of mind when I heard a quiet but still noticeable crashing sound. Dashing forward into my own kitchen I saw Liam plopped on his ass on the kitchen floor with an annoyed pout on his face and Mr O’Miles on the chair using the screw driver Liam had been using. He managed to take of the white plastic container but the annoying beeping sound hadn’t stopped- so he mimicked my earlier action and hit it with such force the metal beeping device flung off my ceiling and dropped onto the marble floor.

TWACK!

The fire alarm split directly in half and in the process the irritating beeping sound stopped all together. I gawked up at my history teacher who had jumped of the chair and was frowning down at his friend, who had pulled himself up and was looking at me expectantly.

“Well I could have done that.” I muttered finally with a small smile on my face which made Liam smirk slightly and Mr O’Miles neck snap to look in my direction now.

“How did you even manage to get your kitchen in this state, may I ask Miss Riley?” Mr O’Miles asked me which got my cheek flaming so hot I think my face might actually burn off. Which would just top off this whole night, now wouldn’t it?

“Why do you keep calling her ‘Miss Riley’?” Liam made quotation marks with his two fingers as he stepped closer to me with a confused look painted on his face.

“Uh…” I mumbled even though the question wasn’t directed to me at all.

“Well Miss Riley is one of my students,” Mr O’Miles was looking down almost like he was embarrassed by the whole situation. It was pretty stupid- only this afternoon Mr O’Miles had basically said being fifteen is baby years which I found highly offensive. Not that I cared at all what he thinks of me or my age or anything to do with me.

To my surprise Liam burst out laughing with a highly amused look on his face as he looked between us both “this is priceless! And she’s your neighbour!” Mr O’Miles reached out his arm and slapped chest hard making a strange sound.

“Will you be ok?” Mr O’Miles asked me as he stepped closer to the door which was opposite me.

“Uh yeah my parents should be here soon…” I trailed of biting my lip nervously as I stole a look towards my front door.

“How old are you anyway?” Liam burst out with a smile playing at his lips once again.

“Fifteen.” I didn’t dare look up or I would end up saying something even more embarrassing and with my face being the colour of a tomato right now I would have to kill myself.

“Not that bad, it could be worse she could be eleven and-“ Liam began but Mr O’Miles interrupted him.

“Shut up Liam. Was that your tea that burnt?”

“Uh yeah,” I admitted with a sheepish smile as I looked at both men.

“Well that’s settled then.” Liam stated.

“What?” Both Mr O’Miles and I said at the exact same time which got my heart beating which has to be the stupidest thing that could have happened.

“Tina will have to have food at yours Olly.” I opened my mouth to protest as did Mr O’Miles from the corner of my eye but Liam continued “She said before she can’t cook, look at the state of the oven, don’t be a tight bitch Olly.”
