The next week seemed to fly by far too quickly- much quicker than I wanted it too. It was halfway along September and already the cool English weather had changed from the actually nice summer breeze to not even needing a hair dryer and sticking your head out the side of the window and within moments your hair was dry. And your head was freezing. And of course the fact people walking past may think you’re the teeniest bit retarded. Maggie and I were working the History classroom with four year eight girls (who all had twice as much make up and shorter skirts than me and Maggie) and of course Mr O’Miles. Phoebe had decided she would much rather spend the night, and I quote, ‘watch only fools and horses because I missed a few episodes’ because Phoebe is obviously has such an exciting life. Zack and his football team all had an away match so they couldn’t take part, meaning it was just me and Maggie, and it was open evening today. Celia and May (one of the girls with more foundation on their faces than I had ever owned) ended up completing the best presentation quiz for the year sixes, if you ask me (or anyone in the class) it was probably because they literally glued Mr O’Miles to the chair next to them and kept asking for help and every time he tried to move Celia would pull him back with such force. And that was how Maggie and I found ourselves in the back seats of my mother’s convertible, Maggie chatting away to my mum about her subjects and teachers as I tried desperately to sort out my fringe. It definitely needed cutting with the length of it or I wouldn’t be able to do the flick sweeping side fringe which would be ultra-depressing.

Nothing had happened with Mr O’Miles in case you were curious, after laughing with him and Liam I trekked back to my house in time to clean the kitchen and give my parents a very innocent smile, speaking of which my parents would be leaving this weekend and I still didn’t have a clue where I was going (Probably Maggie’s where her older brother will bully me and her) Of course Mr O’Miles greeted me every time I passed him in the hallway with me burning a very bright red colour as the words ‘Miss Riley’ rolled of his tongue, Maggie nudging me very obviously and Zack sending us both ‘FREAKS’ and ‘WTF’ stares as the three of us walked. Mr O’Miles managed our form one more time and again he made me walk along with him opening doors but except for him asking me about my favourite subjects (Drama) and had I finally realised that ‘Forget About It’ was the best song on the album which I just laughed at. Phoebe seemed to be much more distant, with her mood swings and snappiness me and Maggie had just left her to it when she said ‘I NEED TO BE ALONE WITH MY DRAWING SO I CAN GET A HIGH GRADE BECAUSE YOU TWO ARE SO DISTRACTING AND GUESS WHAT SAYING DIRTY WORDS ARE FUNNY SO TINA STOP POKING MAGGIE AND SAYING PENIS IN THAT STUPID VOICE’ and then she broke the pencil so me and Maggie just ran. All the way out the art classroom and then burst out into giggles. (Maturity? Check.)

“So are there any boys that you girls are crushing on?” My mum asked us which made me roll my eyes but Maggie have this really suspicious look on her face. Ever since I told her about my screw up she could not stop laughing and told me that if I didn’t show up or cancelled it would make myself look like a total retard with mental health issues (Which I think is the same thing) and then went on to tell me of her stupid cringey plan. ‘I’ll send the year eights of on a mission and ask to go to the toilets and then voila you two can shag on the desk.’ Was exactly her words which just made me blush and hit her arm, and of course tell her if she did I would sit on her head for the rest of the school year.

“Well actually Sue,” Maggie sent a suggestive wink my way “Tina has her eye on this certain guy which always greets her in the hallway and she blushes like crazy but she won’t admit she likes him but we’re only going to be doing History because of him. Ow, God Tina you didn’t need to kick me so hard.”

“Tina.” My mum scolded but then a smile made its way on her lipstick decorated lips “So who is he? Do I know him? Is it Zack? It better not be Zack because your dad and I have this bet and I said you wouldn’t get together and if you do I owe him a fiver.”

“Mum! No it is not Zack, that would be like incest and gross and lesbian.” I groaned head planting the back of the vacant chair in front of me, as Maggie was sit behind my oh so cool mother. Hint the sarcasm.

“Well who is he then? Are you two safe? Do we need to get you a Brazilian Tina? Do we need to get one of those family kits-“My mum started to gabble.

“Mum! Please tell me you didn’t just ask me if I needed a Brazilian or if I’m safe or about the family kits. Please tell me it’s my hearing. “I pleaded but Maggie was too busy laughing so hard her usually pale complexion was now beetroot red (the colour I go anytime Mr O’Miles speaks to me, guilty.) And my mum just is shaking her head as she chuckled.

“Just go far it whilst you’re still young Tina, what’s the worst thing that can be happen? He doesn’t like you back and everyone knows you’ve being rejected? You’ve been through worst like remember the time you kept pronouncing legit as LEG-IT and everyone thought you were a little bit special?” My mum chuckled again and then Maggie was off again.

First day back at school, have to do stupid English paragraphs and get my mother to sign things and try to cram my books into my tiny bag. Upload soon about open evening but I thought I would include something without Mr O’Miles not actually being there. And this is because my best friend and mum always gang up on me.
