Need to talk?

He needs to talk to me.

Oh My God.

He regrets that kiss. He thinks of fifteen as only a baby, he even said so in class. He probably thinks of me as just one of his little pupils. He has no feelings for me. He probably feels sorry for me.

Oh My God.

I feel sick.

"Tina! We're going in ten minutes, you better be down to say goodbye!"

Gee thanks dad, your only daughter is having a mental breakdown and all you care about is getting a goodbye.

Oh My God.

Hearing a buzzing on my bedside table I turned and saw my crappy old phone ringing on silent.

"Hello?" God, could my voice be any less shaky? It's not like he's going to ring me up to humiliate me by explaining he's way to out of my league- and a teacher.

"T? You ok?" Zack's familiar voice greeted my ears.

Letting out a sigh of relief. "Of course Zachary, whats up?" blinking a few times I stole a glance in the mirror, I really needed to fix my whole outfit and hair before he got here- why? Why was it important I looked good when he rejected me?

"You know Jay?" Zack requested.

Racking my brains and coming up with nothing, I replied "No."

"Course you do, he used to be on my football team. He was a striker." Zack informed me.

"Uh..." When Zack used the guilt trip to make me go watch his football team play, I spent the first fifteen minutes struggling to understand what's going on, and the rest of the time playing either Angry Birds or Fruit Ninja on my iPod.

"You met him and thought he was called Josh and spent the whole night calling him Josh and he kept trying to correct you and then you said 'It's all good in the hood, Joshua' and then you and Maggie had a competetion on who could go the longest without saying the letter 'a' in a word." Zack told me.

A memory flashed before me; A tall boy with straight brunette hair which was split in the middle but still looked insanely attractive, with slight stubble and a year or two older than myself. I was convinced his name was Josh, because a boy who looked similar to him on the opposite team was called Joshua so I had thought it was him. And of course, me and Maggie being total idiots at the end was just typical of us.

"Oh yeah...Josh." Even now I knew his name was Jay, I still called him Josh. It suited him better.

"It's Jay- never mind, anyway he's having a big party tonight and he told me to invite my cute girl best friend who got his name wrong." Zack informed me.

"Tonight? Gee Zack, I really wish I could but my parents are going away and arranged for a babysitter for me." Scrunching my nose up on the word babysitter.

"If any other person our age needed a babysitter I would laugh, but it's you so I'm surprised they didn't arrange for you to spend the night in a mad home." Zack chuckled at his own unfunny joke. "Who is it? Do I know them?"

Yeah, it's our history teacher. By the way, I kissed him.

"Um, it's my neighbour." Well I wasn't telling a lie...

"Sneak out." Zack ordered.

"Their more of the person who would want to talk to me and wouldn't let me go into my room for the entire night." I confessed.

"Man or Woman?"

"Uh, man..." Please don't guess, I know he couldn't but just imagine if he could.

"Tell him your on your period. Easy. I'll get a metro bus ticket and get the bus to yours for eight, we'll go together."

"Zack, I can't-"

"Wear something cute, it's a seventeen year old party we're going to be the only fifteen year old there so dress up."

"Zack, your not listning to me-"

"I'll ring you when I get of the bus, we need to get the 2 to Jay's."

"Zack!" I screeched.

"Oh, what T?" Zack asked like I hadn't said anything.

"I can't tell him I'm on my period!" I cried.

"T, I love you and all, but if you don't meet me I'll know on the door and tell this neighbour dude your on your period for you and then I'll sneak you out. Comprehend?"

"Comprehend." I muttered as I heard the dial tone signaling Zack had hung up.

I had two options:

1. Lie to Mr O'Miles with a very embarrassing statement, sneak out to a party and then have to sneak back in hoping he had just gone home.

2. Have Zack come round and find out it is Mr O'Miles babysitting me, have Zack tell Mr O'Miles I'm on my period and sneak me out and the sneak back in hoping he would have just gone home.

Either way it was a loosing situaion with my history teacher thinking I'm on my period.
