I could feel all the bloody draining from my face as I replayed the last five minutes in my mind- realising that my two best friends were...well what were they? Lesbians? Bisexuals? Curious? Playing a really mean joke?
A flash of images sprung to mind, going from the first meeting in year seven to all three of us getting close in year eight. Phoebe with her braces, Maggie with her hairstyles, me with my previous skin issues. Phoebe and my argue in year nine which split all three of us up for a good month. The many sleepover, jokes about the three of us being lesbians and all the moments spent together....
"Tina?" Mr O'Miles voice got me out of my trance as I looked away from my focus point and at the man who looked more concerned than anything. "You ok?"
"Yeah." I said shakily, nodding my head.
"No matter what they...are doing, doesn't change the people they are. They'll still be your friends, despite it all." He mumbled stroking the side of my face which I leaned into.
"They didn't tell me...." I muttered lamely.
"And does Phoebe know about us? Does Maggie know how often we see each other?" Mr O'Miles argued sending me a small smile. A small flash back of just a week ago came rushing to me, sending me back into thought.

"You should really come shopping with us tomorrow!" Phoebe gushed as the three of us sat by the dinning room table, break time at winter always meant we would go into the dinning hall.
"Uh...I really wish I could, it's just I kind of need to practise this stupid drama script with my group, I've got Thomas who is thinking he might get an oscar or something." I lied quickly, looking up quickly to not cause suspicion.
"Sucks to be you, but I guess thats what happens when your in the group aiming for an A star," Maggie laughed sticking her tongue out at me.
"Well we're having a sleepover tonight at mine and tomorrow at Maggie's you know your more than welcome!" Phoebe offered her smile seeming a little to wide - probably because I had been blowing the two of them off for the past month with a different excuse or lie.
"thanks." was all I said, feeling slightly guilty. Phoebe picked up the napkin and gestured to the bin which she stood up and went towards.
"You know who we haven't spoken a long time about? A certain history teacher." Maggie whispered quickly.
"Oh yeah...I don't know really..." for a moment I wanted to tell her the truth, but I knew I couldn't. "I mean he can't afford to loose his job and all, he said he would wait and all."
"I guess it's for the best and all, it just sucks." Maggie shrugged - yes I had lied. As much I hated to admit it, I had had too. Maggie and Phoebe had been getting closer and i just knew with Phoebes morals she would be forcing me to the heads office soon enough.
Maggie however had just assumed that I had been filling up my schedule by getting over Mr O'Miles, Phoebe just thought the inner geek in me had broken out and well...I was beginning to feel guilty - but as soon as a news headline caught my eye of jailed teachers or affairs that had gotten out I had closed my mouth.
"Well we better get going," Phoebe rolled her eyes as she got back as I noticed most of the school was departing the hallway. "Lunch?"
"Super sorry, Zack and me are heading to that Pink Vanilla cake shop. They now have a blueberry muffin with blue icing which is delish!" I smiled at my friends, knowing that that cake was only there because Mr O'Miles had brought it me the other morning after he had made a comment about 'how I eat so much and keep a figure'.
