Love At First Sight

Chapter 16

Justin's POV

We were downstairs in the living room, dressed up and watching some TV, staying close to each other.

"You feeling a bit better Dems?" I ask her.

"Yeah, a lot btter that you're taking the time to take care of me, you're so sweet."

"No problem, beautiful. Anything for you." I say kissing her on the lips.

I've been thinking, I really really wanna show Demi how much I love her. I wanna get married to her. But I need to get an engagement ring first. I need expert advice. Selena will do just fine.

"I'll be right back, beautiful. I just gotta make a quick phone call, I won't be long."

"Okay J." she kissed my lips while I was getting up. I took my phone from out of my pocket and dialled Selena's number going up the stairs in our bedroom. I started talking to myself. "Come on Sel, pick up. Pick up, pick up, pick up-"

"Hello?" 

I cleared my throat. "Hey Sel."

"Justin, hey how are you?"

"I'm good Sel, how were your parents and Gracie?"

"They weren't as bad as I thought. Gracie was fine. She just slept the whole time. But yeah everything's good. What's up?"

"Well I need to talk to you about something, it's about Demi." I put on a serious tone.

"Demi? Is she alright?!" She went into panic mode.

"Don't worry she's fine, it's something good."

"Oh, carry on." she said, calming down.

"Yeah, so...I was sitting with Demi earlier and I started thinking about getting her an engagement ring."

"Aww that's so sweet."

"I know right. But yeah, just to tell her that I love her so much and I wouldn't do anything to hurt her or upset her in any way and with total honesty I feel like I'm ready to take it to the next level.

"Justin...that's the cutest thing I've ever heard you say."

"Thank you Sel, she's everything to me and I just want her to know that..."

"Sure, I understand."

"So I called you anyway just to see if you were free right now and wanted to go look at some rings that Demi might like."

"I'm on quite a long break. I've done so many movies this year, I need time off, J. But I'd be more than happy to go look with you." She said laughing.

"For real?"

"Yes for real Justin. I mean it, I'm free right now and I'm just sitting here doin' nothing."

"Okay, thank you so much Sel, I need to go get ready. Want me to pick you up from home or do you want me to text you the directions and you can make your own way there?"

She paused for a few seconds. "Erm...I'd prefer if you came to pick me up. We don't want Demi thinking anything right now. Let this be a surprise."

"Great idea Sel, see this is why you're the best guidance councillor friend ever. I needed your genius advice." I said to her and I heard her laugh softly through the phone.

"Thanks J. Okay, I'll leave you to get ready. If Demi asks where you're going, just say that you were just talking to me and wanted to catch up with me and do some shopping or something. I'm sure she won't think anything of it. Then when you're out the house, call me and I'll wait for you."

"Another great idea, Selena. You are amazing, I love you."

"I love you too Justin, see ya later."

"Bye Sel." I pressed end call and went to go fix myself up. Need to be quick because I don't want Demi to be suspicious and start asking questions.  

I leave my casual clothes on and fix my hair in the bathroom. I put on a couple chains on my neck and go downstairs to find my shoes. I saw Demi looking at me. My thoughts were: Don't be nervous. Don't panic. Don't freak out. You'll be fine. Just tell her a few tiny white lies and get out of there. She won't be bothered.

"Hey baby, who was that on the phone?"

"It was just Selena. She's alright. She said she was bored and wanted me to go out with her shopping and spend some time with her. She's bored on her break." I said rolling my eyes pretending to be dramatic. Looks like Demi's buying my lies because she's nodding and smiling at me.

"So yeah Dems, I'm just gonna spend the day with Sel, you sure you'll be okay?"

"Yeah yeah J, I'll be fine, don't stress. Go on and have the best day ever with Sel. Tell me all about it when you get back, okay?" She told me. I smile and nod my head. My thoughts right now: Can't tell you what's really happening Dems. I can't wait to show you though.

"Okay, well I'll see you later on then.' She said giving me her famous big smile. She's falling for it, YES.

I move towards her and give her a massive hug before grabbing my keys and locking the door. Whew. Close call. Demi's got no idea what I have in store for her. She's gonna cry....

I ignored a couple paps walking towards the car and unlocking it. Once I got in the car, I strapped my seatbelt on and called Selena to get ready and that I was on the way to her house. I put my phone down beside me and started the car up. I pushed on the gas hard and went on my way.
