Justin's POV
I woke up to an ear piercing scream that made me jump. I think it's coming from Delilah's room. Demi woke up too but I told her that I could handle it and that she should just relax and go back to sleep.
I shut the door behind me gently and went over to Delilah. I saw her crying in her bed and clutching her sheets for dear life. I think I just felt my heart break a little. I just hate seeing my daughter upset.
"Del, what's wrong?" I asked calmly when she looked up at me.
"I-I had a really b-bad dream Daddy..." I heard her say. Her voice was trembling and she kept stuttering because of how scared she was from the dream. "I'm s-scared Daddy, I'm s-so scared." she said with intense fear in her voice. Then all of a sudden she just burst into tears and her hands were shaking a little bit. OH MY GOD DELILAH DON'T DO THIS TO ME, MY HEART'S BREAKING AGAIN...
"It's okay Delilah, I'm here now. You're safe now. Just calm down, princess. It's fine, please stop crying, I don't like it when you cry..." I say to her soothingly. Delilah's cries turned into small whimpers and rests her head in my neck. I pull back when I don't hear her crying anymore and look at her.
"Okay...Delilah, what happened?" I ask her quietly and turn her bedside lamp on. I see her wipe her eyes before she spoke.
"It was so scary Daddy, I dreamt that this big blue ugly monster ate you and Mommy and I couldn't stop him and he was eating all my friends from school and it was just really scary and not nice...I didn't like it Daddy." she says to me sniffling and wrapping her arms around my neck.
I nodded understanding where she was coming from. Monsters can be quite scary.
"It's okay princess, it's all over now. I won't let anyone or anything hurt you. No more Monsters Inc for you. I thought it would make you feel better, but I was wrong, I ended up just scaring you...I'm sorry baby." I say, rubbing her back in an attempt to comfort her. It was working quite well because she's calmed down a lot more and she had finished crying.
"Wanna try going back to sleep, princess?"
"Yeah but can I sleep with you and Mommy? It'll make me feel happy." she said pouting her bottom lip. How could I say no to such an adorable person?
"Sure princess, whatever makes you feel safe. Wanna hold my hand?"
She nodded her head, hopped off her bed and held my hand tight as we made our way to my room.
I got into bed and Delilah shuffled her way in between Demi and I. Demi was already deep asleep and I didn't want to wake her.
"Goodnight princess, I love you, it's your first day of school tomorrow. Sweet dreams." I said, kissing the top of her head.
"Okay, goodnight Daddy, I love you too." she whispers back and snuggles up to me.
She's just the cutest little thing.
The next day: quite early in the morning...
Justin's POV
I opened my sleepy eyes to Delilah and her blanket snuggled into me and her hair a mess like Demi's. I look over Delilah's shoulder to see Demi facing the other way fast asleep also. Since I'm up now, I might as well get dressed and go and eat.
I get up and go do my morning routine in the bathroom and because I'm not going out anywhere, I won't do too much with my hair and I'll just put something casual like just a plain white shirt and black jeans.
I go downstairs and head into the kitchen. I'll make breakfast for my two favourite girls. Demi and Delilah have a thing for pancakes, I don't know why they love them so much, I don't think they're not all that great...
