Demi's POV

We'd always been proud of our Delilah. She was a really smart girl. She's been back at school for a while now after that incident and she's been getting good grades, but with time, it's like high school started to bore her, and her grades started dropping, her carefree attitude was making a reappearance. Delilah came through the door, smiling at me but as soon as her eyes set on the card in my hand, she started walking quickly past me but I blocked her way. Thought she could get away from me....

"Your report card came today," I announced. Delilah's face immediately fell as she mumbled, "Oh man..."

I started to read through the card. " You got a C in chemistry, B- in English...you failed two classes?" I questioned.

"Yeah, but it was just history and biology - nothing I'll ever need to know after high school, like when will need to learn about Hitler or the human body again?" Delilah reasoned.

"Delilah, how do you plan on getting out of high school if you don't pass your classes?" I inquired.

"I do fine in everything else."

"Justin! Can you please come over here and reason with your daughter please, I don't think she's getting how important this actually is for her!" I called out to Justin and I saw quickly him come into the room with a frown on his face.

"You do realize you gonna have to take these classes again if your final grade in them is also failing, right? You should care about these things, Del. You can't just fail classes and forget all about them like it's no big deal," Justin interjected, emphasizing the faults in our daughter's ideas of how school works.

"No, but I can pass them and forget all about them," she replies smugly.

"You could do better," Justin pointed out. "You used to have loads of A's."

"Things change, don't they?" she shrugged, putting her headphones on.

"Delilah, will you stop it and just listen? I'm trying to talk to you. You could do better, and your mom and myself think you have to do better." Justin told her, a firm tone in his voice pulling the headphones from her.

"Okay since when do you tell me how I have to work?" she said furiously, instantly getting mad.

"Err..since I'm your dad?!"

"You've never read a book in your life, how the hell do you want me to take you seriously when you tell me about working more? You're such a hypocrite!"

Okay she did not just go there......yeah she went there.

"Excuse me what? You're actually being serious right now?! Delilah Devonne, you've just dug a massive hole for yourself! You've seriously crossed the line!" Justin raised his voice.

"Your attitude towards education isn't what it used to be, Del. To be honest, it kinda stinks. This "It's my mouth I can say what I want to" attitude needs to dissapear. Why don't you be more like your brother?" I added on.

"Oh my God Mom I am so sick and tired of you and Dad comparing me to Joseph, you're so annoying!" she shouted moving closer to me. I stepped back a little but still stood strong.

"Don't you dare raise your voice at your mother like that, Delilah you just need to get a grip, put your head down and study your butt off if you wanna get out of school." Justin shot her a disapproving glare before continuing, holding my waist, "Well you'll have plenty of time to study and get your grades up - you're grounded until your next report card comes out," he laid down the law.

"What?! That's like two months from now!"

"Plenty of time to get into the zone and get those grades up, I have to put my foot down. You never listen and I can't even count the amount of times me or your mom have told you." he stated simply.

"This sucks." Delilah pouted, folding her arms, turning away.
