Torn between 2 (A Brad Simpson/The Vamps fanfic)

Cause we're all passing time

It was Monday and we all definitely had that Monday feeling. Luckily my first lecture didn't start until 1pm meaning I could have a lie in before the hard work started.

'How you guys feeling?' I asked Sophie and Taylor as I walked into the kitchen.

'Like life has just gone at 100mph'

'Tell me about it! Where have the last 3 years gone?!'

'I know! I thought uni would be the longest 4 years of my life and suddenly I'm in my last year already!' I jumped into the conversation.

'And to think I've known you guys since the first day' Sophie laughed.

'So today's like our anniversary!'

'Happy anniversary guys!' We lifted our juices up in the air.

'Right, I'm going to get ready now then so I'll see you guys at half 12 and we'll walk to our lecture okay?'

'Sounds good, I'm going to get ready too'

All 3 of us went to get ready. Before I jumped in the shower I checked my phone and saw a text from Brad, my mum and Tris.

'Good luck for your first day back darling!! Speak to you tonight, love you x'

'Hey Jas, just wanna say good luck for your first day back! Enjoy your last year before you have to go out into the working world everyday! I'll ring you later, maybe, if you're free.. I love you xxx'

I didn't bother opening up Tris' text. I picked my clothes for today and went to get ready.

'Soph, are you ready?' I knocked on her door. She was always last to be ready.

'Ready!'

'Yeah only 10 minutes late' I laughed.

We all walked to our lecture, meeting our other friends along the way. Tom, Bobby and Emma.

'Hey guys!' Bobby shouted as he hugged us in a massive group hug.

'Welcome back guys!' Emma shouted.

'So, are you ready to officially start 4th year?'

'I wish people would stop asking if I'm ready, I don't have a choice but to be ready' I snapped.

'Okay then.. Let's do this'

We all linked arms and walked into the room. Me, Soph and Taylor sat at the back while the others sat in the middle. One thing I do love about the beginning of the year is buying new stationary. I had new notebooks, folders, pens, sticky notes and even a new bag.

'I love your new bag by the way!' Sophie whispered to me as the lecturer walked in. 'Where did you get it from?'

'Thanks and oh, my brother got it for me'

'He has good taste!'

'Right! Good morning' our lecturer started speaking.

The first half was just boring introductory stuff that we hear every year. The second half was actually learning.

...

We had finally finished for the day and sadly already had assignments given to us. I already had a 5000 word essay on a play of my choice that was due in 2 months, yay.

Me and the girls decided to get a takeaway and pig out watching films, standard really, and forget about deadlines as it was only the first day back. We watched a film called 'why did I get married too'. It was so funny, we must've laughed about 50 times throughout the film.

Once the film had finished we decided to go to sleep as we had a 9am start tomorrow and we need to get up for it.

I spoke to my mum before I slept just to tell her how my day was even though she rings me everyday without fail. I then text Brad instead of ringing him.

'Hey B, just got into bed. Already been set work :( I've got an early start tomorrow so I'll speak to you tomorrow, hope you're okay, goodnight xxx'

As I put my phone down on my bedside table, it start ringing. It was Brad.

'Hello?'

'Hey Jas'

'Hey Brad, you okay?'

'Yeah, I just wanted to say goodnight'

'You could've text me goodnight' I laughed.

'I know, but I wanted to say it on the phone'

'Okay' I smiled to myself.

'So goodnight Jas, shame about your essay already by the way!'

'Yeah thanks for reminding me!'

'Don't worry, you'll smash it'

'Haha, hope so'

'Anyway, goodnight Jas, I'll speak to you tomorrow! Love you'

'Sure, love you too weirdo'

I laughed as I hung up. That was cute. That's the Brad I missed. The Brad who would ring me before sleeping just to hear my voice. I put my phone down next to me again and turned over the switch the light off before falling asleep, with a smile on my face.
