Time stands still

I ran home to find Tris. 'You will never guess what just happened!'

'What?'

'I just had serious word vomit. I told Brad I love him!'

'You did what?!'

'I know! It just came out!'

'Well what did you say after that?'

'Nothing.. I just ran here'

'Well done for playing it cool, you absolute idiot'

'Well that was uncalled for'

'I'm serious Jas, he's still madly in love with you. Telling him you love him isn't helping'

'Well he has a crazy girlfriend too so that's what I'm more worried about!'

'Who has a crazy girlfriend?'

'Brad? How have you forgotten Molly spiked my drink?!'

'Of course I haven't! I forgot about her. Didn't Brad tell you he broke up with her?'

'What?' I was shocked.

'Yeah, he broke up with her after the party on the weekend. I thought he would have said something'

'He told you this?'

'Yeah'

'Did he say why he broke up with her?'

'Not really. He just said she wasn't right for him'

My phone was ringing, it was Brad. I shoved it in Tris' hand in panic.

'H-hello?' He answered. 'Jas can't come to the phone right now, she's, erm, she's, she's in the toilet!'

I looked at him and rolled my eyes.

'Is that the best you could come up with?!' I asked once he was off the phone.

'I panicked! You know I can't lie!'

'Anyway, what did he say?'

'Nothing, he just wanted to say you left your coat round there'

'Oh, that's it?'

'Yeah, he seemed totally fine as well'

'Okay well you're going to have to go and get my coat'

'Why me?'

'I can't go over there can I!'

'What's all this shouting?' Mum asked as she walked into Tris' room.

We both looked an each other and responded at the same time. 'Nothing!'

'I've known you two long enough to know when something is up. Now spill'

'I told Brad I love him by accident!'

'So our plan worked!' A huge grin was painted across her face.

'Sorry, what plan?'

'Me and Anne-Marie came up with the idea of you helping with their packing so we could get you two in a room together to sort things out!'

'You are kidding me right? This whole situation is your fault mum, I hope you realise this'

'Oh come on Jas, we were only being helpful! We all know you both belong together, even though Harry is great, he's not exactly Brad is he..'

'What does he have to do with this?' I said bluntly.

'Nothing, I was just saying!'

'So what do I do now?' I groaned. 'I literally can never face him again now'

'Well we're going out for dinner with them tonight so..'

'Are you being serious?!' My eyes widened. 'Well I'm not coming so you have to make an excuse for me'

'What am I meant to say?'

'I don't know, say I'm packing or something!'

Tris tried creeping out of the room unnoticed but it didn't work. 'Tristan Evans, don't even think of getting out of this either'

'Ohhhhh, why do I have to come if Jas isn't?' He moaned.

'What's your excuse then? I'm not going without at least one of you so make up your mind who's coming'

I turned to Tris immediately. 'I actually have a genuine reason why I can't go so don't even think about asking to swap'

'Fine' he gave up instantly.

'You can get my jacket while you're there too' I smiled sweetly.

'What did your last slave die of?' He gave me evils.

'Funny' I rolled my eyes.

I left to go into my room and actually decided to make a start on my packing as I was moving to London next week to start my job! Time flew by and before I knew it Tris and mum were ready to go for dinner with the Simpson's.

'Have fun' I said to Tris.

'I'll try' he answered back.

'Jas, are you sure you'll be okay here by yourself?'

'Yes mum, it's not like I haven't been home alone before' I laughed.

'Well we won't be back late okay'

'Don't worry mum!'

They finally left and I went back upstairs. My graduation ball was also next week and I still hadn't got a dress! I completely forgot. I text Soph and Tay asking if they had sorted their outfits and Tay was in the same boat as me. It was coming up to 6 so I decided to run down town because shops were still open until 8.

*1 message from Tris*

'I am so bored, you're so lucky you missed this'

I laughed when I read the message and put my phone back in my pocket. I looked in every shop but sadly had no luck in finding anything I liked.

As I was walking home I got a text from Tris saying they were on their way home. I rang Jenn on my walk home to pass time. We agreed to go dress shopping tomorrow as I was running out of time. I finally reached home and saw mum and Tris getting out of the car.

'How was it?' I asked.

'It was emotional' mum said.

'Emotional?' I laughed. 'What happened?'

'We've been best friends with that family forever and now they're moving away! Who else am I going to go to when I need something quickly?'

'Aww mum, don't worry. You can go visit them any time you want, they're only a phone call away' me and Tris gave her a big hug.
