I believe that one day I will be right next to you

I couldn't sleep that night, I kept tossing and turning. I kept going over what Brad wrote, I couldn't get it out of my head. I didn't want to speak to anyone, I needed time to myself. I had 6 missed calls from Harry and 11 messages. I knew he'd understand, well I hoped he would.

Tris came and knocked on my door before entering.

'I bought you some food'

'I'm not hungry'

'You need to eat'

'I'm okay'

'Jas, you have this lost look in your eyes and it scares me. What are you thinking about?'

'Do you ever think about the 'what ifs'?'

'All the time'

'Would you go back in time and change something?'

'Well it depends what it is. Me personally, I wouldn't change anything. It's made me who I am today so if I changed something then I wouldn't be me'

I turned to him. 'Huh, that makes a lot of sense'

'So what are you thinking of changing?'

'Nothing. I was just asking what would you do if you had the opportunity to'

'Oh and by the way, Harry called and asked you to call him back'

I didn't answer.

'Shall I tell him you will?'

I didn't answer again.

'Jas?'

I remained silent and opened up my laptop. Tris sighed and walked out. I heard him talking to mum but couldn't make out what was being said.

I closed my eyes and thought to myself, 'what would dad do?' I looked up and smiled.

'I know you're probably looking down on me thinking you could just give me a big hug and tell me it will be okay.. I wish that would happen to. I don't have a clue what to do'

My phone went off. I had an email, I got offered a job in London to become an acting coach! I couldn't believe it! It was one step closer to my dream job of becoming a professional actress. I immediately ran downstairs to tell my mum.

'I'm so happy for you darling! We have to celebrate!'

'I can't believe it mum! I actually got the job!'

'Of course you did! You're my clever, amazing, beautiful little girl!

'And guess what! They're paying for my accommodation too!'

My mum screamed. 'You've officially made it sweetheart, I am beyond proud of you!'

'Thanks mum! You can stay with me anytime okay! I'm sorry I'm leaving you again'

'Don't be silly! You're living your dream, that's all me and your dad ever wanted' she smiled.

'What's all the screaming?' Tris walked in.

'I've been offered a job as an acting coach in London!'

'Well done! I knew you could do it! Wait, so you're moving back to London again?'

'Yeah, they're paying for my accommodation'

'This is some serious deja vu. Right we need to celebrate! I'm so glad this job offer came today, it's exactly what you needed' he hugged me.

'Right, let's go find you a new outfit and get our nails done! My treat!' Mum shouted.

As we were going into town I rang Harry and told him the good news. He said he'd drive up to Birmingham and come out with us tonight, mum said he could stay round. Me and mum chose to go shopping for a new outfit first before getting our nails done otherwise they wouldn't match.

After 3 hours of shopping, I came back with 3 different outfits. Tonight I was wearing a khaki green sleeveless top with a brown skirt that had an Aztec pattern on the bottom half of it. I got my nails painted a simple camel colour.

Soph and Taylor weren't around so it was just me, Jenn and Holly. Just like the old days. Tris and Connor were coming too, James was spending the evening with his sister.

'Is everyone decent?' Tris yelled as he knocked on my door.

'Yes you weirdo' I shouted back.

'Jas I need to ask you something'

'What?' I went outside.

'Erm, Brad wants to have a lads night in with me tonight but I told him we were going out..'

'Tris! Why did you not just say yes?'

'I didn't want miss out on your celebrations!'

'So now what? I really don't want him there tonight'

'I know. I don't know what to do. Should I just stay in with him tonight?'

'Well I'd prefer if you didn't but it's the only choice we have. I'm sorry'

'It's okay, I kind of threw myself in it. We'll go out again tomorrow and celebrate, okay?'

'Let me get through tonight first' I laughed.

'What happened?' Jenn asked as I walked back in.

'Oh nothing. Tris can't come anymore, he's having a lads night in with Brad'

'Aw, what a shame!'

'I know. He said we'll go out tomorrow night to celebrate as well so you better be there' I joked.

'Oh I am so there!'

'JAAAAS' I heard mum call through the house.

'Yes mum?' I went to the top of the stairs.

'Harry's came to drop these, he's just gone over to James' house to get ready with the boys'

'These are beautiful!' She handed me a bouquet of roses.

'He's a good guy' mum smiled.

'I know' I smiled back.

I went back upstairs to see if the girls were ready. I asked Jenn to loosely curl my hair because she was always best at it. Once she was done I quickly straightened her hair and we were good to go. Jenn had text Connor to see where they were and they said they were on their way. The doorbell rang so I went to answer it thinking it was them. I was wrong.

It was Brad.

Tris forgot to mention their night in was at our house.. I froze for a bit before actual words came out of my mouth.

'He's upstairs'

'Thanks'

He closed the door behind him and went upstairs while I went to the kitchen for some water.

'You okay Jas?' Jenn walked in.

I took a deep breath. 'Of course! Now let's get our drink on'

Tonight was a celebration and that's exactly what I was intending on doing. We drank quite a bit before leaving for the club, the boys took their time coming round. We got in the taxi and made our way to town.

'Right, Jas you need to act sober if you want to get in tonight' Harry said.

'I am totally fine!' I slurred my words.

'You're going to drink this water for me now okay'

...

The next thing I remember was being at home in my bed with Harry leaning over me. He was tucking me into bed.

'Wh-where are you going?'

'I just had to make sure you made it to bed safely'

'Are you not staying?'

'No but I'll just be at James' so if you need anything you can call me okay?'

'Thanks for looking out for me, I love you B' I yawned and fell asleep, despite feeling sick.
