Leaving You

Leah's P.O.V

"Take that mother fucker !" My girly voice yelled through the hospital suite. Pink nail polish poked at the Temple Run game on my iPhone. Currently my score was 408,768, my record. However Zayn had the highest, 367,674,321. I frowned when my name was compared to his. It still hurt after two days of my break began.

Niall was now down to a record of six tubes. It was amazing to watch him grow stronger. Mesmerising to be more exact. His chest huffed up and down while machines beeped. A smile came over my complexion by just watching him breathe. My ears picked up a faint knock at the door. I turned to see my best friend from by home.

"Andrea !" I practically dove at my friend's arms. Her long black curls dangled down her back giving a tickle to my arms. My nose smelled the familiar perfume the boys launched back 6 years ago. She was a big fan of the lads to say the least.

"Hey babe ! You're squeezing me !" Her accent rose. I've known Andrea since I was 6 years old. We became best friends by chasing the girlies around the playground with worms. Since then we've done everything together. We even remained close after I left Manchester. She visited occasionally, but we called and texted everyday. I haven't seen her in two months face to face though.

"How's my pregnant best friend ? Holy shit how's Niall ?" Her face went from a smile to a frown. "I mean I got your texts but I didn't think it was this....." She stopped. I knew it freaked her out to see him like this.

"What are you doin here ? Where's Daniel ?" I asked quickly changing the subject. She scooted a chair next to me closely. A huff came from her.

"He cheated on me and I thought I'd come here. I need my best friend." It must've been recent because her voice was hurt.

"I'm so sorry babe. He's an asshole." I got up from my seat and hugged her. She needed it to cover her hurt.

"I hate to be blunt, but could I stay with you and Zayn. Don't know my way around London." I looked down at the floor. My cheeks reddened up at the thought. I hadn't told her about the incident or Zayn cheating on me. Now was the time.

"Umm. Remember when I had to come here because I fell ?" Andrea nodded at my words with a raised eyebrow. "I didn't fall. I lied. Zayn cheated on me for a year and I found out. When when when I tried to leave he threw a glass vase at me. And threw me at the door. I ran out and called mum. The doctors ran a blood test and I found out I was pregnant. I told him I needed a break two days ago. I'm staying at the Best Western across the way." After she took in my words her jaw dropped. It hurt not to tell her, but I needed time.

"Oh my god Leah. That bastard." Her voice raised at the swear word.

"I forgave him because the sake of the baby. But I went home and Mary told me to do what my heart told me. And as cheesy as that sounds, it told me I needed a break. Other stuff happened too." Her brown eyes focused on me deeply. She was pissed and I could see it. Hurt filled her eyes.

"Well I'm staying with you. We did always talk about living together." We laughed at the memory brightening the mood. I brought the idea up when we were 16.

"You're gonna love it ! There's a pool on the first floor." Her jaw dropped at my last sentence. We would be spending a lot of time in that pool. After a silent moment Andrea broke the silence.

"Let's go over to Starbucks. I saw one on my way here." She suggested. There was a problem with that.

"I'm pregnant I can't have coffee." I laughed at my clueless friend.

"You can get chocolate milk !" She laughed back. My eyes darted to Niall. What if he woke up to no one ?

"I don't think he's going to wake up while we're gone. Plus we'll be right back." I nodded with touching Niall's shoulder. He was still cold. In my mind I told him I'd be right back. Andrea pulled my hand out the door. We smiled at each other before exiting the hospital. It felt nice to walk a different route. It felt even better to have my best friend with me.
