Chapter 17 - Not Giving In

CARA'S POV: 

As I made my to Ethan's, a few tears were shed but I tried to keep myself together for my sake. As I wiped away my eyes clear of tears, I found my self at Ethan's window. I knocked lightly hoping he hadn't already gone to bed. I waited a few moments before seeing a light turn on in his room and his curtains starting to ruffle. One of Ethan's eyes then appeared from the curtain obviously trying to pin point who I was before opening them up. He then looked a little startled as he opened up his curtains and the window itself, obviously shocked to see me. 

"Cara?" he questioned squinting his eyes. 

"Hi Ethan. Sorry If I woke you", I replied clutching both my hands close. 

"No don't worry about it. Are you ok?", I could now faintly see the outline of his body although it was hard to make out in these lights. 

"Uh not really.." I trailed off as I let my eyes wonder down to the ground. 

"Whats wrong?", A gush of cold air then hit me making my teeth chatter and goosebumps appear on my bare legs. "You must be freezing, here come inside and we will talk." He then reached out his hand for me to grab and thats exactly what I did. I then climbed through the window with the help of Ethan, trying as best I could to not make a sound. I could now see Ethan fully as I studied him from his head to his toes. Ethan was shirtless and may I say it was a nice sight to see, I could feel my cheeks now burning up so I quickly looked down to at my feet to hide my face. I don't think he noticed as he began to talk again whilst shutting the window behind him, "Now Cara tell me what's wrong"

"Do you think we could just sit for a while and talk about it a little later?" 

"Of course", he said as he then made his way into his bed, patting the spot beside him signalling me to join him. I then took off my shoes before climbing in next to Ethan, his arm immediately making it's way around my waist. I then placed my head on his chest which was so warm and his skin so soft against mine. I could hear his heart beating faster and faster as I moved my hand onto his stomach. I then looked up my eyes meeting his, "Thanks again Ethan for everything." 

"No worries at all, you know I am always here for you no matter what." He then left a kiss on my forehead before I looked up to place a kiss on his bare cheek which instantly turned a dark shade of pink as my lips detached from his skin. His smirk was hard to ignore as I looked up meeting his eyes once again. 

"So do you want to take up my offer from before then?", Ethan asked as he licked his lips making me feel a little nervous. 

"What offer?" 

"To stay. Do you want to?" 

"Are you sure?"

"I wouldn't ask if I didn't want you to silly", I could feel a smile coming on as I tapped Ethan's stomach lightly, "I would love that." 

"You should probably ask your mum first though", Shit my mum, I had totally forgotten to tell her where I was, god knows how long she has been looking for me. I then quickly pulled out my phone as fast as I could making Ethan jump a little, to my surprise there were no messages from Mum, although I still decided to text her asking if I could stay at Ethan's avoiding any panic. As soon as I sent it I got an almost immediate reply from her. 'No worries Love, Leanne and I are on our way back as we decided to get a bite to eat on the way home. I will pick you up tomorrow, Just text me whens good to pick you up. Love you xo' 

'Love you too Mum x', I then locked my phone resting my head now next to Ethan's on the pillow beside his. 

"You sure your ok?", Ethan whispered moving a piece of my hair out of my face. 

"Ethan, I will be fine. Don't worry about me"

"I can't not worry about you", he said now placing his hand back upon my waist. 

I smiled at Ethan before snuggling closer to him. "Don't spend your time worrying about someone like me Ethan"

"What do you mean someone like you?", He was now sitting himself up to have a better look at me.

"I'm boring and I always seem to be in a mess lately. I don't know what it is but", I paused for a short while before shaking my head and burrowing my head back into Ethan's chest.  "thats besides he point. I'm just boring, old, annoying Cara."

"See thats where your wrong Cara.Your intelligent, funny and absolutely beautiful. Don't let anyone tell you different. And no matter how many times you say to not worry about you, I still won't listen because until the day I die I will never stop caring and worrying about you and who your with, who your seeing, how you are and of course who your dating because I don't believe anyone is good enough for you and no one will ever be." 

I could feel my face burning up as I looked back up at Ethan, placing a soft kiss on his cheek. 

"Why do you do that?"

"Do what?" 

"Why are you so, I don't know.. Ethan, You always know just what to say and I honestly don't know what I did to deserve someone like you, I really don't." We sat looking looking at each other for a long while as I made my eyes from his head to his toes. 

"How are you still single?", I giggled, breaking the silence as I rested my head back down on the pillow next to Ethan. 

"Maybe because the one I want isn't available", he replied turning his head, almost like he was hiding from me, But why?

"You like someone?!" I jumped up pulling Ethan back so his eyes were aligned with mine. 

"It doesn't matter, just forget it"

"Etho, you can tell me, promise I won't tell", I said eager to find out who he was crushing on. To be honest it kind of bothered me but why? I have Jakob.. Well had. 

"Cara honestly, its not worth it"

"Come on Etho", I said using my baby voice that he had always fallen for. 

"Don't you start", He said slightly giggling as he covered his ears with the side of his pillows to block out the noise. "I'm not giving in" he then quickly added. 

"Karpathy your no fun!", I nudged him playfully. "Don't you worry I will find out", I then winked before laying down once again.
