This is a part two of my very first chapter of this book.

The healing took time. And lots of it. Knowing that you weren't good enough for him broke your heart. Your mind often wondered what it was that wasn't good enough. Were you not pretty enough? Were you an annoyance? Did you not give him enough of you? Did you do something wrong and not know it? There were so many questions left unanswered. Questions that you wanted answered, but didn't dare ask him. If it were up to you, you would never see him again.
However, him being friends with Matt didn't help. Ever since the breakup, you had been staying at Matt's, and since they were still friends, Mello came over. A lot. Each time the door opened and he walked in, you waved good-bye to Matt and hid in your room. You couldn't figure out what hurt more. The fact that he cheated, or that he hasn't said anything since the breakup. Matt told you not to worry about it and to, instead, try to think of happier things. Over the course of the past five months, Matt had been a better friend to you than Mello had ever been.

A soft knock at the bedroom door drew you from your thoughts.
"Yes?" You ask.
The door opened and Matt stuck his head in, "Hey, we're going out for a bite. Did you want to come or did you want me to bring you back something for later?"
You shrugged, "Bring me something back, if you would." You got up and grabbed your wallet, about ready to pull out some cash.
"You don't need to give me money,"
"Why not?"
"I'll pay for you."
You looked at him, a little shocked, "Oh, no. Matt, I couldn't do that."
"Yes, you can." He flashed you a smile. "Don't worry. It's on me tonight."
You sighed and finally gave in, "Fine. But next time, I'm buying. And for both of us."
He laughed and shut the door, "Alright then."

A few hours later, you heard the door open and close, footsteps down the hall, and a soft knock at your door.
"Yes?"
"It's me," Matt opens the door and pops his head in, "I'm back with food. You better come eat before it goes cold."
"Is it just you?"
He pauses for a moment, "No, it's not."
You sighed and rolled over on your bed, "Then I'll wait."
He returned a sigh and shook his head, "You can't avoid him forever. Especially when there's food."
You sat up and rolled your eyes, "I can if I want and I want. Besides, I'm not the one who started this whole avoidance shit."
"He wants to apologize, you know."
You snorted, "Yeah right. He can go stick his apology up his ass because I don't want it. It doesn't mean shit because it won't change anything. It won't change the fact that he broke my heart, Matt. It won't change the fact that thanks to him, I feel completely and utterly worthless." By this point tears had began to roll down your cheeks. Frustrated that you were crying, you wiped them away and turned your back to Matt.
You heard the door shut and figured Matt had left you to yourself. That was, until he felt his arms around you.
"You aren't worthless. Not one bit."
You snuffled and wiped away more tears, "Then why do I feel that way? Why am I still crying over him?"
He rested his hand on your head and looked you in the eyes, "I don't know the answer to those questions, but I know that you aren't worthless."
"How do you know?"
He wiped the tears from your cheek and gave you a soft smile, "Because you mean a lot to me and I don't see one thing wrong with you." He kissed your forehead and stood up, "Now, are you going to come eat the food I brought you? Because it's your favorite and it wasn't cheap."
You couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, I'm coming." You followed him out of your room and down the hall. When the room opened up to the living room, you looked down at the ground and tried to stay behind Matt. When he took a seat next to Mello, who didn't look up from his phone, you hurried into the kitchen where you found your food waiting for you.
Halfway through your meal, you heard someone walk in to the kitchen. "Hey, Matt, next time you bring me back food, make sure it's not spicy," you said, automatically thinking it was Matt.
"I'll let him know of your request."
Your heart skipped a beat when you heard his voice. You hadn't heard it in a long time, yet you recognized it instantly. Your stomach churned and made you immediately feel sick. You stood up, threw what little food was left and headed towards the door.
But he caught you by the hand. "-------,"
"What?" You spat.
"Look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have hurt you like that."
You yanked your hand out of his and turned to face him, "Oh, really? You're sorry?"
"Yes, I'm sorry. Isn't that what you want to hear?"
You rolled your eyes, "Right. That's all I wanted to hear." You slapped him across the face, hard, before turning and leaving.
Seeing how frustrated you were, Matt stood up from the couch as you walked by, "Hey, are you-"
"I'm fine!" You shouted as you slammed the door to your room.

A few minutes later, you hear your door open.
"What do you want, Matt?" You asked, keeping your back to him.
You feel the bed move then a body press against your back, with arms wraping themselves around you. "I want to make you feel better."
You wiped away a couple tears, "Why?"
"Because, I don't enjoy seeing you like this. I want you to be happy."
"I don't know if I can. I just... I feel too much pain..."
He rolled you over so you were facing him and he kissed your lips gently. "Then let me help. Let me make you happy."

I'm back?
