"GUYS!" A voice shouted as the door was suddenly pushed open, startling both Doreen and David. A tall male with dark gelled up hair and bright blue eyes held onto the door knob while his body stayed on the other side. "We need to go!"
"There is no we, David," Roland said and walked towards the door, "you're staying."
"Says who?" David questioned and pushed the other male back into the room. He blocked the door with his body. "I'm escaping with you two!"
"Roland's right, David," Doreen inputted when she saw the two males doing a stare down, "Mr. Baxton is your uncle and he doesn't know about your friendship with us. If you were to be gone at the same time as us, you'll be a target now and they'll look for you and kill you."
"Well I'm not just going to leave you guys!" David exclaimed and stomped his foot childishly. "You guys are my best friends and best friends don't leave each other to die!"
"Who says we're gonna die?" Roland smirked. David chuckled and shook his head.
"You guys know how much I detest their plan," The blue eyed male started, "and I would do anything to put a stop to it."
"David," Doreen said sadly, "you're only fifteen," then she pointed to herself and Roland, "and we're only fourteen. What can we do?"
"This." David said mischievously and took out a small vial filled with blue liquid.
"T-that's...!"
"The last and only copy of the super serum." David answered with a gleeful smirk. Roland looked at him with an amused expression.
"How?" Doreen asked with wide eyes. "The other scientists had it locked up in a secret room down in the basement so that no one will be able to take it!" David scoffed.
"I stole it." He laughed maniacally and handed it to Doreen. "Now, once we get away and find a safe place where we can't be detected, we can use this to fight back against the organization."
"Bro, are you crazy?" Roland retorted and leaned towards David's face. "Are you asking us to infect random people with the serum?" David smirked and took out something from his pocket.
"Not necessarily random people," in his hands was a palm sized crystal ball, "but only people with the metamorph gene."
"David," Doreen had to shout over the blaring alarms that were released, "you're still not coming with us. I already involved Roland and I'm not involving you too."
"Doreen," David grabbed her shoulders and hugged her tightly, "I don't want to leave you." A tear escaped his eye as he looked at Roland. "What happened to the three musketeers?"
"David, no," Doreen pushed him back, "you have to stay. Who else is gonna be our inside source?" David laughed.
"That's true," he nodded, "but still - "
"I'm really sorry, David," Roland said from behind him, "but this is for your own good."
"What - " and with that, Roland smacked David's head with the metal chair in the room. The fifteen year old collapsed onto the floor with a thud.
"He's going to be so mad when he wakes up." Doreen said, tears slipping down her cheeks. She bent down to pick up the crystal ball he dropped and put it in her bag.
"He'll thank - ow!" Roland screamed when he suddenly felt something piercing the skin above his ankle through the fabric of his jeans. He looked down to see David looking up at him with a dazed expression.
