"I thought you said that Andrew was in the BSIA?" Christina whispered as they gathered at the dining table in the kitchen of the Gomez residence.
As it turned out, Adrian was the only one home when Andrew 'arrived'; his mother didn't come home while his sisters were still with their aunt. According to Adrian, when he opened the door because of the doorbell ringing, Andrew was passes out on the ground. In an effort to bring his big brother inside the house, the younger Gomez immediately called Israel and from there, the older male carried him to his bedroom. It was now Sunday and Andrew hasn't woken up since he got there. The house was empty save for the metahumans, Doreen, and Adrian.
"That's what David told me..." Marissa whispered back, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Wait," Jazmine raised an eyebrow and turned to the elemental, "since when do you talk to David?"
"Do you contact each other?" Doreen whispered with a knowing look.
"What?" Marissa hissed in a whispered tone. "No! He just showed up at my house and - "
"I don't know why we're whispering," Melarni shrugged in a nonwhisper, "I mean, he already knows about us." She gestured to the boy sitting at the end of the table and the group looked at him. Adrian smiled cheerfully and waved.
"Israel," Christina narrowed her eyes at the blue eyed male, "why did you tell him in the first place?" The superhuman shrugged.
"I'm a shapeshifter!" Melarni said to the male with a smirk before morphing into a carbon copy of the boy. It would've been an exact clone, except for the strands of green hair amongst the black.
"You're me!" Adrian gasped and covered his mouth while pointing at his double.
"Yep!" Melarni laughed before morphing back into her normal self.
"Show off." Marissa laughed.
"Anyway," Doreen changed the subject, "what are we gonna do about Andrew?"
"What do you mean?" Jazmine questioned. "He's here, isn't he?"
"I'm betting that the BSIA did something to him..." Israel suggested. "David said that Andrew was at the BSIA... but he's here now." He looked up with a calculative look. "This seems like a trick."
"Trick how?" Christina raised an eyebrow. "Knowing the BSIA, they're up to something."
"They're always up to something," Doreen nodded and sighed, "and Israel's right." She leaned forward on the table and propped her elbows, her mouth on her fists. "The BSIA just wouldn't release a test subject unless..." she paused for several moments before gasping realization. Her gasp made the other teens jump.
"Unless what?!" Melarni exclaimed. Right before Doreen was about to answer, a voice was heard.
"Adrian?" Andrew called drowsily from the top of the stairs and the group can hear footsteps walking down.
"Andrew's awake!" Adrian cheered and the teens sighed in relief.
"Thank God." Jazmine and Israel muttered and smiled at each other.
"We need to interrogate him on what happened now that he's back." Doreen said and the teens nodded.
Once Andrew reached the bottom of the stairs, they watched him walk towards them with a confused expression.
"Israel? Adrian?" Andrew raised an eyebrow, his face contorting more in confusion as he pointed to the group. "What are you guys doing?" He narrowed his eyes at the girls. "Who are they?"
