A  picture of Melarni is on the side! I feel pretty proud of myself for creating the 'ombre' effect on her hair :D

THUD!

The three occupants at the bench set jumped at the sudden noise.  The bench set was navy blue with four rectangular little benches surrounding a square table.  With it was a matching navy blue umbrella in the center to shield the occupants from the sun’s rays.  It was one of the many bench sets in the courtyard of Mayview High School.  Right now, it was Monday morning, with just a couple minutes before the bell would ring and classes would start.  The courtyard was currently littered with students chit chatting to other students about their spring break.

The trio looked up to see Christina plopping down on the last empty bench, her bulging back pack thrown on the table.

“Wow,” Jazmine observed, leaning on the table with her arms crossed, “You really did do an all-nighter.”

“Mmhmm.” Christina mumbled, banging her head on the table.  “I’m so fucking exhausted, it’s not even funny.”

“I can imagine.” Melarni said, leaning against the bench seat.  “And we’re back at school.” The girl grumbled, hating the idea that they had to come back to school.  She’d rather be anywhere than here.

“I wanna go back home!” Christina whined, stomping her feet.  “I hate breaking up with my bed every morning for school.”  Marissa patted the girl’s shoulder sympathetically.

“We all do.” Marissa said.  Right after she said that, the first bell rang, signaling every student to go to their first class of the day.

“UGH!” Christina grunted, stomping her feet and flailing her arms.  The courtyard had already started to empty, leaving just a couple groups, including them.

“C’mon.” Jazmine said, getting up from her seat and grabbing Christina’s arm, trying to lift her up.  “We have Government first period.  We wouldn’t want to be late, now do we?” Melarni and Marissa giggled when they saw that Christina still wouldn’t budge.  “C’mon!  We’re gonna be late!”

“Ugh, fine!” Christina grunted, getting up from her bench seat and stomping her way into the building.

“She should really stop doing all-nighters.” Marissa commented as they too made their way into the building.  As they walked through the halls, they saw students rushing to class and students getting their books from their lockers.  They stopped at a crossroad in the hallway.  “Well, I have English first period and Melarni has Economics.  So, we’ll see you at break time.”

“Bye!” Melarni said, waving at the two and turning into a different hallway.

“Yeah, I just have to get a book from my locker.  I’ll see you guys later!” Jazmine said, waving at the two as she headed towards her locker, which was next to a storage room.  The lockers at Mayview High were the long type of lockers.

Students continued to rush to their classes as she fumbled with the combination and opened her locker.  After retrieving her Government book and putting it in her bag, she closed her locker and spun the lock.  Just as she was turning around to walk to her first period, a rushing student ran passed her and accidentally pushed her to the side.

“Oof!” She grunted when she felt the force of the push and instinctively closed her eyes.  When she opened her eyes, she saw darkness and felt herself in a cramped space.  Her eyes widened.  Was she in her locker?!  She banged on the locker door, hoping someone would hear her.  “Help!  Is someone there?” She heard footsteps rush passed her then silence.  She groaned and slammed her head on the locker door.  “Aw man…”
