"Sweetheart, I'm so sorry, maybe next month yeah?" Your mum's voice crackled from the other end of the phone.
This was the third time she bailed on coming to see you in the last few weeks.
"Yeah.. Sure thing mum." You whispered, fearing if you spoke any louder your voice would break and you wouldn't be able to hold back the tears. You didn't have enough fight left in you.
"Heheh-stop it Marv- okay baby I've gotta go! Love you," your mum giggled, before you could say 'I love you' back she hung up, leaving you to stare at your phone in pure shock.
"Yeah.. Love you too mummy..." You whisper to yourself, hanging your head low.
Since she had gotten a new boyfriend she didn't have time for you, at all. You were lucky if you got a text a day, but if she phoned you, you knew it was to let you down. Again.
You stood up, deciding it was a good idea to go for a walk.
"Hey, Tony? I'm going to go for a walk," you say, half in half out the lab door.
"Mother problems?" He asked walking over to the door, wrapping his arms around you.
"Yeah, I need to clear my head," you almost laugh, Tony and you had became really close, although he was awkward and 97.3% of the time he was drunk but that didn't matter, he always knew when you needed a hug, or tequila. It was mostly always tequila though.
"Its half ten, be back before half twelve and I will have drinks ready for us." He laughed, setting the timer on your watch before pushing you out the lab.
"Be careful (Y/N)." Bruce called from the lab, he was buried in a project as normal.
You waved then both goodbye before grabbing your jacket and leaving.
You aimlessly wondered through the streets, hoping you wouldn't bump into anyone who wanted trouble. Even if they did want trouble you could kill them in seconds.
You found yourself at a park, walking along the path you spot a bench, taking a seat you pop in one of your earphone, blasting your music.
You searched through your music until you found your playlist labeled 'mum'.
Nearly seven songs later it started to rain, you put up your hood and started to cry.
You hated to seem weak, you hated the fact that you relayed on your mum so much, you hated the fact that she was more interested in some guy than her twenty one year old daughter, who had join the freaking Avengers.
You hadn't realised how long you had sat there before your watch buzzed on your wrist
You didn't want to move, you couldn't move, your jeans had stuck to your legs because of the rain.
You stayed in your spot, gently singing along to the songs that were playing.
A movement on the path caught your attention. You head snapped up ready to fight off some stupid drunk.
"(Y/N)? Why are you still out here? It is nearing the second hour of the morning!" Loki's voice made you sigh with relief.
You stood up noticing it was still raining, but heavier, the drops were bouncing off the grass and the pathway.
"I'm sorry, I must if fallen asleep," you giggle nervously.
"Here, allow me, Stark was rather worried that you hadn't returned for drinks, he still waits up for you." Loki smiles down at you, lifting the umbrella over your head.
"No, am already soaked, keep yourself dry." You say pushing the umbrella back to Loki.
"Ah, but I have a spare, lady (Y/N)." Loki smiled proudly, taking another from his jacket pocket.
"Hm, very smart." You nodded in approval. His smike was unbelievably dazzling.
"Your staring (Y/N)," Loki's voice pulled you out your trance.
"Yeah-eh- yeah no sorry." You stammer shaking your head. Smiling widely to yourself.
"Would it be rude of me to ask to kiss you?" Loki all but whispers, as he leans down towards you.
"N-no... It would be rather polite actually," you giggle nervously, leaning towards him.
Your cold wet lips collided, moving in sync, rain still dropping down your faces, you had forgotten about but the umbrella that hung loosely from your hand by your side.
You pulled back for breath, looking up shyly at the man you just kissed.
"Maybe we should join the others for drinks?" Loki smiled, linking his arm with yours, you nodded in agreement.
"I do enjoy the rain," Loki hummed, smiling as you both walked "don't you agree (Y/N)? Its quite beautiful and peaceful, yet so..."
"Sad?" You offered looking up at him.
"Yes, also very cold, if you had stayed out here much longer you would of been a frost giant," he chuckles at the irony.
"I'm 5'2, not really a giant Loki," you chuckled "however, thank you for saving me, oh great master of mischief," you laughed loudly.
When Loki and you got back to the tower, Bruce was waiting with dry cloths and Tony was waiting with drinks and food.
Loki spent the rest of the night stealing glances at you, wondering if he would get to kiss your lips again.
