Keep My Distance.
~~~~~
Living with your best friend wasn't supposed to be hard at all but with Y/N it was. God, it was damn near impossible.
Bucky undeniably adored her. Everything about her. Her passionate voice, her stunningly bright eyes. Her soft light lips, the way her teeth weren't quite straight - he often thought about what kind of imprint her teeth would leave on his skin. The effortless way her hair was always perfect even when Y/N said it wasn't.
Even her scent was intoxicating to Bucky.
However Bucky had to keep his distance. His mind and soul was still broken and he couldn't afford to drag her down with him.
And yet the way his name rolled off her toung made him feel things he never though he could again.
But there was one problem.
She indubitably and unmistakably was completely and utterly in love with him.
Not a single day went by without Bucky crossing her mind. Even if they hadn't seen each other for weeks.
They lived together, they were in love and yet they were not together.
Sad, isn't it?
How people who aren't in love are together and yet the people who are so inlove with each other aren't together.
Y/N trudged though the front door to her apartment at 7.36am. She had just returned from a mission.
She had expected Bucky to be either in bed or out running.
Tiggie - her beloved Burmese American short haired cross. She had beautiful coppery, brown, black mixed fur with random tuffs of ginger and blonde, came to welcome her at the door, the cat rubbed her head against Y/N's shin lovingly.
"Hey Tiggie Wiggie." Y/N whispered gently to her cat as she placed her duffle bag down at the front door.
The sunlight streamed through the white sheer curtains. Giving the effect of what Y/N thought heaven would look like.
Bucky was sprawled out on the sofa, his bare chest raising up and down slowly. His metal arm hung from the sofa as his flesh arm covered his face. She could hear him dreaming.
His long brown locks were pulled back into a lose bun, his baggy black joggers clung from his lower waist, revealing his 'V' line.
Y/N guided her eyes away from the beautiful sleeping man. She didn't want to disturb him. She had to keep her distance.
She had waited so long for Bucky. She had made damn sure to keep her distance but she didn't know how much longer she could keep it up for.
Her feelings for the soldier got stronger and stronger with each passing day.
And his for her.
But Y/N didn't know that. And she never could.
Not until Bucky was better. Not until Bucky was good enough for her.
Unfortunately that day was taking its time in coming.
Y/N genuinely thought the best thing about love was falling. She wasn't so sure now, she had already fallen for Bucky and yet he showed hardly any interest.
