More Than Meets The Eye

Nasa isang sulok ako ng venue at umiinom mag isa. I was so disappointed because I didn't see Rhian at the inauguration. The VP for Operations of HGC told me that the Howell sisters decided not to attend the inauguration and chosed the after party instead. Ganun ba sila kabusy at pati ang pagpapasinaya sa condotel nila hindi nila mapuntahan?

Mr. Wilson, the VP for Operation is obviously thrilled to meet me. He made sure that I won't leave and will attend the after party. Hindi nya ko tinigilan hangga't hindi ako pumapayag na umakyat sa rooftop kasabay nya dahil doon daw gaganapin ang party. Mayamaya lang daw dadating na ang big bosses ng HGC at excited syang ipakilala ako sa kanila. I obliged willingly. Well, I won't miss it for the world. Ito naman talaga ang ipinunta ko dito. Ang makilala ng personal ang mga big bosses at makita ang magiging reaksyon ni Rhian kapag finally ipinakilala ako sa kanila.

I waited patiently for her arrival. She's an hour late but what can I expect? She's the owner and the COO, she can arrive anytime she want and no one will dare to complain about her being late. And then I saw her stepping out of the lift. Walking like a goddess in her dress that hug her body perfectly. She's still the same exact Rhian from 3years ago, walang pinagbago ... if I may say, mas lalo pa nga syang gumanda ngayon. She's 25 now and aging suits her just fine. She's like a wild flower in bloom that anyone can see and appreciate but not all can have.

I saw her accompanied by a man which I'm sure also came from a well-off family based on his appearance. My jaw clenched as I see them walking hand in hand. I know the guy. Oh, how could I forget? Sya ang lalakeng ipinalit sa'kin ni Rhian. The guy who's good enough for her. Sila pa din pala. Well, good for them ... good for her. Atleast, hindi naman nasayang ang lahat ng ginawa nya.

Hindi ko mapigilang mapakunot ang noo ng makita kong binati sya ng isang empleyado. I know her too well to know if she's hiding something. She can fool everybody in this room but not me. I know she's giving her best smile but behind that lies something else. She look hesitant and bothered. But why? Does she had a problem? Nag away ba sila ng boyfriend nya bago pumunta dito?

Sinusundan ko ang bawat kilos at galaw nya. I saw her roam around and talk to almost everybody in the room. Giving them warmth greetings and sweet smile. Napansin ko ding pasulyap sulyap sya sa kung saan saan. She discreetly look around to everyone in the party. Parang may hinahanap ang mga mata nya. Did she looking for someone. Alam ba nyang pupunta ako sa party na 'to? No, I doubt it. Si Chynna lang ang nakakaalam sa biglaan kong desisyong ito dahil sya ang inutusan kong magpabook ng ticket para sa'kin. Even the G&G and HGC doesn't know that I'm coming. So it's hard to presume that she's looking for me. Maybe she's looking for someone else.
I saw her boyfriend handed her a drink and she drink it straight like water. After that she turned around and look around again. I saw her got disappointed from what or who I don't have any idea.

Hindi ko inaalis ang tingin ko sa kanya but I made sure na hindi nya ko mapapansin. I'm just glad na maganda ang pwesto ng table na nakuha ko. Natatakpan ako ng mga ornamental plants na nagsisilbing design para sa nature friendly na theme ng party. I'm just a few meters away from her, enough to see her clearly and watched her every move.

"Architect Galura, I was looking for you around. Akala ko umuwi ka na. Anyway, I'm glad you stayed. I want you to meet my daughter, Georgina. She's the head engineer of Howell Group and since you're an architect ... I hope you two can get along." Nakangiting pakilala ni Mr. Wilson sa anak nya ng makalapit sa table ko. He's grinning from ear to ear. Kung hindi nya lang anak si Georgina, iisipin kong nirereto nya sa'kin ang babae. Does he know that I'm a lesbian? I laugh at my own thoughts. No one here knows that I'm gay except for Rhian.
