Chapter 25: Hearts

Sometimes I wish I never had met you
because then I could go to sleep at night
not knowing there was someone
like you out there.

Walking into my house I'm pretty use to it being empty now. Doesn't really bother me that much but today somebody was here. I heard the tv playing. Furrowing my eyebrows I walking into the family room to see Charlie sitting on the couch casually watching a football game.

"Um, hi." I said awkwardly.

He looked over at me and smiled jumping from the couch.

"I came back because I feel absolute horrible for everything I have done Reagan. I'm a asshole and million swear words and I'm sorry for everything."

"It's ok Charlie I'm not as mad at you as I was I'm more mad at Asher."

"That's good, I was afraid you where gonna kick me out."

"Where have you been staying anyway?" I asked curiously.

"Sierra's."

"Yeah what's with that? Why do you hang out with her a lot?"

"I like her." He shrugged.

"You know what your getting into right?"

"I don't think you have any room to talk using Kyle?"

"I'm not using him."

"Yeah whatever I'm fully aware of Sierra Stones past I'm helping her move past it."

"Your helping Sierra Stone?!"

He nodded.

"She's not that bad you know. Plus I warned you about Asher."

"Please you never warn me about anything, you helped him remember."

He was quiet.

"Alrighty moving on heard anything from Cole."

I rolled my eyes but let it slid anyway.

"Yup, you?"

He shook his head.

"Must not like me."

"Well why do you care all the sudden where he is?"

"We are adults now don't really need a guardian. I'd like to know the plan. Like who gets this house? I'm sure mom won't be coming back a anytime soon. I mean she said she was coming back from Paris and went straight to L.A."

"Do you want this house when we graduate?"

"I don't know maybe, you don't?"

"I want as far away from my so called mother as I can get. I'm moving to Japan."

"Really?" Charlie asked chuckling.
