Ice Cold Love (Ayato x reader)

Chapter 6

(Y/n)'s POV

I got out of bed and stretched. It had been a restless night for me. I had another nightmare...I went to the bad side and killed people...for fun. I tried to forget about it and had a quick shower. I changed into a pair of ripped jeans and a sweater (with gloves). I brushed my hair and tied it up in a French braid.

I had to learn how to control my power. I went outside and kept walking until I found a good clearing. I took off my gloves and touched a tree. Ice started to form, I quickly removed my hand. How was I supposed to do this?!

I focused on controlling my magic and touched the tree again. This time, ice started to form but slower than before. I smiled, at least it was slower. Ouch...headache...hurts...so...bad. I sat down, leaning against a tree. Okay, just calm down.

I heard a stick snap and immediately heightened my senses. I could faintly see two wolves. They looked like they were...going to hunt me down. I stood up slowly. Their eyes watched my every move. I turned around and ran.

I was faster than an average human but I didn't know if I could outrun these wolves. They were closing the gap between us. Oh no. I forgot my gloves as well. I stretched out my hand and subconsciously formed a row of spikes. I didn't know I could do that.

The wolves just jumped over it but they both got a few scratches. I didn't react fast enough and got bit by one. I kicked it off my body and covered my injury with ice. Oww, my headache.

The mansion was only 300 metres away. I think I can make it. I ran as fast as I could and pushed the door open. The headache was getting worse. I fell on my knees.

The wolves were about to jump on me but Subaru pushed them away. They quickly got up and used their paws to claw at Subaru. I managed to get up and sort of shield him. Oww, it hurt so much.

"Get away...now!"

He wouldn't leave my side. Then I saw Ayato yell at me to stop...but I couldn't. Suddenly, someone hugged me.

"A-Ayato...get away."
"Stop this! Just control it!" he yelled at me through the blizzard. The wolves had already run off.
"I don't want to hurt any of you! Go away now!"

It was too late. The blizzard became larger until it surrounded even the outside of the mansion before vanishing. I hoped that Saee and Yui were safe. Shu...and someone else, I hope you have protected them. I looked at Ayato and saw lots of cuts.

"I-I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." I blacked out.

~In my room~

I woke up and saw Saee and Yui. They seemed safe.

"W-what happened?"
"Ayato brought you here after you went unconscious. I wanted to tend to his wounds but he wouldn't let me and left," Yui replied.
"What about you two? Are you both okay?"
LYes, we're fine. Shu and Laito protected us...uh I mean-" (Saee)
"*smirk* So he does like you..."

Saee blushed, causing Yui to giggle. I tried to get out of bed but Saee stopped me.

"You are not getting up until you are feeling better," Saee stated.
"But-"
"No buts."

I frowned. Staying in bed all day was boring. Yui left me with some medicine. They left after wishing me to get better. I looked at the medicine and saw two notes.

1st note: This will help for a few hours. ~Reiji. I had some of the medicine. 2nd note: Hope you get better, I still need your blood. ~Ayato. Typical.

I checked my arm and saw a bandage there. The scratches on my back and waist were bandaged too. Subaru came into my room. I thought I saw regret in his eyes.

"I'm sorry." I tried to do a cheerful smile.
"Don't worry about it, it's all in the past now...hopefully."

He left. A few minutes later, I decided to go out. I was bored. Right after I left my room, I came face to face with Laito.

"Sup," I said before trying to walk off.
"I've never seen Ayato protect someone like that before," he exclaimed. I stopped in my tracks.
"You haven't?" He didn't answer. I walked up to him and took his fedora hat and put it on.
"How do I look?" I bet I looked weird.
"Great."
"What? Really?"
"No."
"Come on..."

Seriously? I continued to walk randomly around the mansion. I was surprised that he didn't take his hat back. I saw Saee and Yui and quickly hid from them. I didn't want them to know that I got out of bed.

When they were out of sight, I got out of my hiding spot. I was in the lounge room. There was a bowl of candy on the table and I was about to take one but remembered that they could be Kanato's.

I didn't want to replay what happened last time. I just took one anyway, I was hungry. It was lemon flavoured. Someone tapped my shoulder. I quickly turned around.

"K-Kanato, I'm sorry about-" He stopped me by sinking his fangs into my neck.
"P-please stop." But he didn't. Ayato popped out of nowhere and pulled me away.
"Ayato...your cuts." There was a bit of blood on his face. I wiped it off with a tissue.
"You should really-"

He licked my neck and bit down where Kanato just did. I could feel the blood leaving my body. His breath felt hot against my skin. Despite my logical thinking, I longed for more.

When he was finished, I took him to my room so that I could tend to his wounds. Luckily, there wasn't much. When I was done, he muttered a 'thanks' and left.
