Chapter 7

(A/N): I'm sorry I couldn't update again for a few days. Had a lot of homework again. This might happen for most weeks, sorry.

(Y/n)'s POV

I changed into my school uniform. I didn't feel like going to school today...but whatever. I opened the door and almost bumped into Yui.

"Sorry."

She just smiled but I could tell that she was forcing it. There were bite marks on her shoulder. Shu. I was about to go teach him a lesson but Yui stopped me.

"Please don't...and besides, you don't want to upset Saee," she exclaimed.
"True but I'm sure she'll forgive me. Go find her and tell her that I said to protect you."

I flashed a small smile and ran off. I found Shu sleeping on a random couch. I pulled out his earphones.

"Why?" He just blinked in confusion.
"Why did you do that to Yui?"
"I was hungry," he answered simply.
"Because you were hungry? That is not a reason. Yui is a human being and she is not to be treated as a blood bag. She has her own life and that's her own blood. Don't go into her personal space. How would you like it if someone did that to Saee except she had so much blood taken out of her, she got ill." I took a deep breath to control myself. He looked shocked.
"Think about what I said." I walked off but stopped at the door.
"Almost forgot. Don't just sit around sleeping. I'll be taking these for a while."

I walked out of the room, taking his earphones. Everyone was already there when I arrived. I sat next to Saee.

"Present." I handed her the earphones.
"Um...are these Shu's?" she asked.
"Yep. Keep them until he starts doing something for a change."
"But-"
"Sleeping isn't doing anything, it's just lazing around."

I looked out the window. I was so focused on the scenery that I didn't notice Ayato change spots with Saee. When I turned back around, his face was only about an inch away. I jumped back in surprise.

"Don't scare me like that." He just smirked.
"And since when did you switch places with Saee?"
"A while ago." I looked at Saee. She was squished between Laito and Kanato. I laughed.
"Hey, it's not funny," she said.
"You have something on your face." "Where?"

I smudged black paint on my hands behind my back (don't ask where it came from). I walked over to Laito and shook his hand. I winked at him.

"Why did you shake hands with him?" Saee asked.
"Because it's polite and he's going to wipe it off for you." He wrote 'I love Shu' on her face.
"It's gone now," he told her. We all started laughing...except for Shu. "What's so funny?" she asked everyone.
"Look in the mirror." She got out her mirror and went red in embarrassment and anger.
"(Y/n)!"
"Don't worry, you can wash it off." I splashed water all over her uniform and face.
"Hey!"
"I just saved you a day of going to school. I'm sure one of them would volunteer to watch over you." She raised an eyebrow.
"Shu volunteers." We arrived at school and got off. I grabbed Shu's hand and led him over to Saee.
"Go home, have fun doing what Saee likes. Just a heads up, she's obsessed with Korean songs aka kpop."

He teleported her back to the mansion. I went to my first class, which was biology.

"Today you'll be learning..."

I zoned out and thought about Ayato. Did I have feelings for him? I think I was starting to fall for him. Now that I thought about it, he was actually with me almost all the time. Was it possible...no, it couldn't be.

"You'll be working in pairs to dissect a frog." Eww, disgusting.
"I'll be choosing who you're working with. (Y/n) with Ruki, Yui with Ayato, ...."

Ruki?! I looked at Ayato and he seemed like he was glaring daggers into Ruki's back. I smiled at him...did he just soften his expression a bit when he looked at me?! I went to the bench Ruki was at.

"Hey."
"You're (Y/n), right? The girl that-"
"Yeah yeah."

The teacher laid out a dead frog in front of each pair. It didn't look that disgusting but I did not want to dissect it.

"Person no. 1 is going first," the teacher told us.

I got the scalpel and closed my eyes. I pictured it in my mind and started to cut. I imagined a stuffed frog toy filled with candy. I opened my eyes cautiously and just stared at Ruki. He looked at me with wide eyes.

"How...did you do that?" he asked. "I...don't know. Did I do it correctly?"

He nodded. I looked down and saw it. The most revolting thing I might ever see. I went to wash my hands before looking at Yui. She looked sick and it almost looked like she was-

"Yui!" I caught her. She must've fainted.
"Oh dear, it looks like you have to take her to the infirmary. Can you manage on your own?" the teacher asked.

I nodded and lifted Yui up. It must've looked weird but I didn't care. Some people looked at me in surprise, like they weren't expecting me to be able to carry her all by myself. Well, she was very light.

I walked all the way to the infirmary. I put her on one of the beds. At least she looked okay. I put a lolly next to her with a note that said 'hope you get better'. I left and went back to the classroom. It looked like everyone was done.

"Alright everyone, you all get about 20 minutes of spare time. Just talk quietly if you don't wish to do work," announced the teacher.

I walked over to Ayato and sat down on the floor next to him. The teacher played music on the speakers in our classroom. Eventually, I fell asleep while leaning against his shoulder.

~At the mansion~

I was walking around aimlessly. I was trying to find Saee but I was out of luck. Then I bumped into Subaru.

"Sorry and hi." He plopped a toffee in my mouth.
"Thanks."
