Chapter 18

(Y/n)'s POV

I felt like swimming.

"You guys have a swimming pool, right?"
"Yeah, why?" Ayato asked.
"Just." I grabbed Saee's hand and ran inside.
"Whoa, (Y/n), slow down," she exclaimed.
"Sorry."

I grabbed my swimmers and went into the bathroom to change. I put a simple knee-length dress over the top and told Saee to get changed.

"But my swimmers-"
"Then we'll go shopping."

She followed me to Yui's room. She was asleep so we decided to let her rest. But before we even got the chance to go out, Ayato stopped me.

"They're back," he told us.

Saee and I looked at each other before quickly running to our hiding spots. Hide and seek time. I went to the rooftop and texted Saee:

'Where are you?'
'Basement, I found Shu sleeping on the floor. So lazy.' I laughed and texted Ayato.
'What are you doing?'
'Flicking mud at Reiji and Ruki.' I laughed out loud and quickly covered my mouth. I texted Reiji and Ruki.
'Sup.'

I heard their messages. They were close. I jumped down, onto the ground. I ran to the garden and saw Subaru. I grabbed his hand before he hugged me, teleporting us to his room. I sat on his bed while he sat on the chair.

"Why did you bring us here?"
"Don't know." I walked up to the door and turned the handle.
"No, don't!" But it was too late. I came face to face with an irritated-looking Reiji.
"*nervous laugh* Uh hey."
"You all have to do the housework for a week since you all skipped school."
"Housework?!"

~Some time later~

We were all in the living room, deciding what we were doing.

"I bags cooking," I said before anyone else could speak first.
"Aww, but I wanted to do that," Saee whined.
"You can sweep the floors." Her mouth fell open.
"Shu can do that, he's doing nothing most of the time." I laughed. He just groaned.
"I'll do nothing because yours truly is truly special," exclaimed Ayato. I rolled my eyes.
"You can do the dusting...or even better: rubbish duty." He grabbed my arm.
"Want attention from yours truly?" I made an extra cold ice cube in my hand and plopped it in his mouth.
"Brain freeze," he said. I smirked.

~Timeskip to after deciding~

(A/N): I'm just gonna make up stuff about their pool.

I went on the diving board and jumped. I landed in the pool and when my feet touched the ground, I pushed up.

"Come on Saee." She dipped her toe in the water.
"But it's freezing!"
"It is?"
"Oh right, you're the one that made it cold...there are even ice cubes in the water!"
"*nervous laugh* Oops, sorry." Ayato jumped in and almost landed on top of me.
"Hey! You almost squashed me."
"So?" I pouted and fake cried.
"Ayato's a big meanie!" Saee and Yui laughed. He suddenly hugged from behind.
"Better now?" he asked.

I smiled. Saee made a love heart with her hands. I pointed to her and Shu and mouthed 'true love'. Yui giggled. I pulled Saee in. She dragged Yui in as well. I laughed.

"Hey!" they both shouted at the same time. Saee began to chase me around in the pool.
"Ayato, Subaru, save me!"

They just watched me trying to get away from Saee. I threw a snowball at her and some of it landed in her mouth. Everyone laughed. I got out of the pool and went over to everyone else.

"Why don't you guys come in?" They just shrugged.
"Let's play a game. Line up along the edge of the pool."

They hesitated so I told them it wasn't any special trick. They eventually did what I told them to do. Right after they did that, I ran behind them and pushed them all in.

"You said it wasn't a trick!" Yuma shouted.
"It's not. It's a game where I can push you all in. I just made that up a few seconds ago."
"Makes me sorta regret the surprise," Subaru exclaimed.
"What surprise?"
"Nothing," Yui answered quickly.

Something was up. Shu suddenly sank underwater. I quickly swam down to grab him. His eyes widened before his grip around me tightened. I pulled him up.

"Please...let...go, it hurts." He got out of his 'trance' and let me go.
"Sorry." Ayato was trying to not punch him.
"Don't worry, I'm sure it was just an accident." Shu left.
"Let's play a game!"

I was going to the kitchen to make dinner since it was my job now. While I was going down there, I wondered what I should make. But when I got to downstairs, everything was pitch black.

"H-hello? Anyone here?"

No answer. I was about to leave but someone wrapped their arms around me from behind.

"Happy birthday (Y/n)," he whispered into my ear.
"A-Ayato?!"

Then the lights turned on, illuminating the whole decorated room. My mouth fell open. I haven't had a party like this...ever.

"Thank you so much!" Saee and Yui were the only ones that got me presents.
"Thanks guys for getting me lots of presents," I exclaimed sarcastically. They looked away.
"Uhh, I got you a piece of paper," Ayato said.

I rolled my eyes. Saee got me some perfume and Yui got me a locket with a picture of me and Ayato. I blushed. Subaru came back with a bunch of roses. Yuma gave me a basket of strawberries.

"Thank you!"

The others just shrugged and gave me a little bit of what they found. I was still happy that I at least got something. The dining table was full of food...especially takoyaki.

"Did Ayato request for this?" Everyone nodded.
"...well, I don't care, I love takoyaki."

After we finished, Saee brought in a gigantic birthday cake decorated with snowflakes. They let me cut the cake and some of the boys argued about who would get the biggest piece. Saee took it away from them and gave it to me. I ate the whole thing before their mouths fell open. I laughed.

~After the party~

I was standing on the balcony, looking at the stars.

"Thank you everyone...for the best birthday ever."
"You're welcome, I planned most of it." Ayato stated after appearing out of nowhere.
"Yeah right." I raised an eyebrow at him. Eventually, I fell asleep while leaning on his shoulder.
