Ice Cold Love (Ayato x reader)

Chapter 9

(Y/n)'s POV

I woke up. Everyone was surrounding me. This felt awkward...Saee immediately hugged me.

"Can't...breath."
"Oops, sorry," she apologised.
"Um...why are you all here?"
"Because Ayato begged us all to come," Subaru stated, smirking. Ayato was going to punch him.
"No, don't!" I ran in front of Subaru. Ayato immediately stopped. I lowered his hand.
"There's something I need to discuss with you," exclaimed Reiji.
"What is it?"
"That dart had a chemical in it to increase your headaches and for some reason, it'll make you more likely to turn into that thing that'll apparently kill us," Reiji told me.

All the colour seemed to drain from my face. A few minutes later, everyone left. I had a quick shower and put on skinny jeans with a long sleeved t-shirt. I left the room. Yui came up to me.

"We're going to school today," she said. I just nodded and followed her outside. I sat near the window.
"Why aren't you in your uniform?" Saee asked me.
"Because I don't want to be in my uniform." Reiji looked at me, annoyed. I smiled apologetically at him. When we arrived, I ran off.
"Where are you going?!" Saee called out.
"Somewhere!"

I ran to the forest. I needed to control it. I touched a tree after taking my gloves off. Ice started to form but slowly. Stop. It didn't. Come on, just stop! It started to form even slower. I took off my shoes. Ice/snow spread under my feet.

"What are you doing?" I turned around. Ayato was leaning casually against a nearby tree.
"None of your business."

I accidentally shot ice at the ground. It bounced off then started heading towarda Ayato. He teleported behind me. I let out a sigh of relief. He bit down on my neck.

"Your blood doesn't taste as sweet," he exclaimed with a frown.
"Um, is that a problem?"
"I need it to be sweet and it feels like you're weakening."
"I don't care, I need everyone to be safe."

More ice started to form under my feet. I pushed Ayato away before the ice formed a barrier around me. He punched on the ice barrier.

"(Y/n)!"
"I'm alright. I'll find a way to get out. Tell the others that my 17th birthday is in 2 weeks."

He left after writing something on the ice. It read: 'don't leave me alone with my brothers'. I smiled.

I made an ice sword and slashed against the barrier. The sword cracked. I kicked the barrier, it didn't break. What was the key to controlling my power? I needed to think.

I has no idea what time it was but I knew that it was late at night. I saw blood splattered on the barrier before covering my mouth to stop myself from screaming.

Who was that? I went to a corner and hugged my legs. Eventually, I fell asleep.

~In the morning~

I woke up. The barrier was still here. I focused on controlling the ice to crack then shatter. I breathed calmly. Just concentrate. It started to crack. I kicked it and it broke.

I turned around and saw a snow white fox...but it was dead. Poor thing. I started to walk around with no destination in mind but bumped into something and fell on my butt. I looked up and saw Shu.

"Don't ask. Saee was really worried about you so I came to get you." I mentally smirked.
"You liiiiiike her."
"*blush* Shut up." I got up. He took my arm and teleported us back to the mansion.
"Thanks." He just left. Yui ran up to me.
"(Y/n), Saee's been worried sick about you and she's literally sick."

Yui grabbed my hand and ran up the stairs to Saee's room. I walked up to her bed. Shu was sleeping beside her. Saee woke up.

"I feel better now," she exclaimed.
"Seriously?!"
"Yep."

She looked to the right and saw Shu. She got so surprised that she fell off her bed. Yui giggled while I laughed.

"Hey, it's not funny." I helped her up and woke Shu up.
"Saee's waiting for her prince," I whispered to him.

I grabbed Yui and left. Oww, this one was more painful than the last one. I clutched my head.

"What's happening? Are you alright?" Yui asked worriedly.
"Don't worry...about me..."

I tried to keep walking but collapsed. Yui saw Ayato and moved. Ayato picked me up. I smiled weakly at him. His cool temperature helped calm me down. He took me to my room. There was some medicine already here. I took some.

"Thank you." He sat down beside me.
"Listen, I have something-"

Ayato caught interrupted by Subaru bursting into the room. Way to ruin the moment.

"We're under attack." We immediately rushed to the entrance. There were wolves everywhere.
"We'll never let you have her!" Saee shouted as she kicked one away. Yui was hiding behind Laito.
"What do they want?"
"You." Me? Why me? I watched as everyone got hurt more and more.
"Stop!" Everything went still but a wolf was slowly walking towards Ayato. I froze it.
"Don't hurt them anymore. I'll come with you if I have to. Just leave them alone."
"(Y/n), you can't!" Saee shouted.
"Ayato, look after Saee and Yui. Also, get along with your brothers. Same goes for you, Subaru."

I smiled weakly at everyone and left. Ayato tried to come after me but Subaru held him back. I followed the wolves until we arrived at some old, weird-looking building.

They pushed me into a dirty prison cell and locked me up. I touched the bars and it electrified me. I sat on the small hay bed before someone came.

"Hello, my name is Tsuki Komori, Yui's brother (Yui doesn't actually have a brother, this is a made up character)."
"Why weren't you with her?"
"I left that stupid coward."
"Don't you dare call Yui a stupid coward!"
"I need you to turn into-"
"I know, you want to kill them."
"Not only them but the Mukami brothers as well."
"Why do you want to kill them?"
"Because they're related to Karl Heinz and he was the one that killed my friend!"
"That doesn't mean that you have to kill the Sakamaki and Mukami brothers along with Saee and Yui!"
"Yes, I do. The world'll be better without them." After that, he left. Tch, what a jerk.
