Chapter 19

(Y/n)'s POV

I got up and changed into some ripped jeans and an off-shoulder shirt. I brushed my hair and went to Saee's room. She was still asleep. She usually woke up at this time, I think Shu has made an impact on her.

There was a blanket on the floor and with pillows underneath? I lifted the blanket and jumped back. It was Shu. I did not expect that.

"Wake up!"
Saee groaned, "5 more minutes," while Shu kept on sleeping.

I pulled the curtains open and turned on the lights (fairyfreemaid remember camp, in the morning, so bright). Saee rubbed her eyes and sat up. I smiled innocently.

"I woke you up gently."
"Yeah right *sarcasm*, then why is Shu still asleep?" she asked.
"I left him for you to wake up." She blushed. I smirked and threw a pillow at Shu's face.
"Wake up sleepyhead!"
"I thought I was gonna wake him up."
"You were too slow and I just wanted to see his reaction...which is remaining emotionless."
"He is not emotionless!" Saee argued.
"Standing up for your future husband?" She blushed as red as a tomato.
"I know he isn't or at least wasn't emotionless." She looked confused.
"He was..." I trailed off.
"What?" Saee asked, now really curious.

Was I allowed to tell? I went up to Shu and asked him. He just nodded and left after drinking Saee's blood. I tried to hold back from freezing him.

"Okay...he used to be like a normal child except his mother, Beatrix, made him study so much that now he is too lazy to do anything."
"Oh...I would hate a mother like that," Saee said.
"None of them liked their mothers...I think. It might explain why they killed their own mothers." I quickly covered my mouth.
"They what?!"
"Nothing!"

She just shrugged it off even though she was still curious. Yui came in and brought my uniform as well.

"We have to go to school," she told us.

I pouted. I grabbed my uniform and changed into my uniform in the bathroom. I went outside and left when Saee was ready. I sat next to Saee and Yui before snatching Reiji's book.

"Such rude manners," he exclaimed and snatched it back.

I snatched it off him. He just sighed and got out another book. I read the first chapter and decided it was boring. A book about tableware. Seriously?!

I gave it back to him. I flicked a piece of paper at Subaru. He flicked it at Laito. Laito flicked it at Ayato and he flicked it at Saee. This kept going for the next few minutes until I burst out laughing. Everyone else laughed too.

~At school~

Our classes had changed, just for today. I was in a class with Saee and Shu for science. I sat down next to a random boy because the teacher gave us a seating plan. Saee sat next to a boy as well. Shu was at the back.

Class started and I sat there, bored. Saee looked like she was laughing with the boy next to her. I heard the name Hikaru. She was laughing with him. They sorta looked like they were flirting with each other.

Shu was glaring at the window. I'm sure she didn't mean it. We had maths after. Saee and Hikaru always sat together. She would sometimes come over to Shu and I. She couldn't really like him...could she?

I focused on the maths questions instead. Straight after we finished, the teacher gave us a test. I bet I aced that test...no, not really. Our next class was history. Yay...not. We were learning about the medieval times in different countries (fairyfreemaid in class 😂).

~After school~

"Yeah, I'll meet you tomorrow, see ya," Saee said to Hikaru.
"A date?"
"No, we're just studying together."
"It seems like you like him."
"N-no, I don't," she answered.

~At the mansion~

"What's wrong with you?! I did nothing wrong!" Saee shouted to Shu.
"Nothing! It's nothing!" Shu answered angrily.
"I get it, you're jealous! You don't have to take it out on me!"
"Well, this wouldn't have happened if you didn't flirt with him in the first place!" Saee angrily stomped away. I went into her room.
"Saee? Maybe you should go apologise to him, just say you aren't dating-"
"Oh, so now you're on his side! I thought you were my friend!"
"I am your-"
"No you're not! If you were, you would stick up for me! I hate you, leave me alone!"

She pushed me away. Tears formed in my eyes. I ran out and bumped into Ayato. He looked surprised. I tried to get away but he just pulled me into a hug.

"S-she..."
"I know."

~Some time later~

"I'm sorry Shu, I-"
"I guess I was wrong about her..."
"...no, you aren't. She's everything you thought she was. I'll go prove that right now." He looked hesitant.
"We can't control her...she'll do what she wants. I don't really have control over her reaction. But it's still worth a try."

He just teleported somewhere else. I went up to Saee's room. She was sitting on the floor, crying silently. I ran up to her and hugged her.

"He'll forgive you..."
"No, he won't. I made a huge mistake. I thought I liked Hikaru...but my heart doesn't agree."
"Think twice about that." (Shu)

He kissed her. I left them alone to talk about it. I went our for a walk then bumped into Hikaru.

"How could you?! You stole my one chance at being loved! My parents left me because they didn't love me! I don't have any friends either! No one loves me!" he shouted.
"I'm sorry." He kissed me but was pulled back a second later.
"Don't touch what doesn't belong to you!"

Ayato looked like he was about to rip someone's throat out. I held his hand and hid behind him. Hikaru...had fangs? He's a vampire?! He looked like a psychopath.

"Ayato, don't do this."

He didn't answer. Hikaru was surrounded by fire. He had powers as well?! Ayato shielded me from his attack and coughed up blood. I got mad and froze his next attack.

He was stronger than I thought. I ran up and kicked him but he burnt my arm. I shot ice daggers at him but they only scratched him. I froze his feet and Ayato kicked him...breaking his legs so he couldn't walk.

But he could still attack with fire. I shot ice onto him and he froze...but minutes later, it melted. Hikaru blew a whole lot of fire at me but only burnt a bit of my leg. Right when he was about to attack again, Subaru stabbed his knife through his heart. He could've done that before we started...
