PART 23

After the manaofying session of Manik and
Nandini , Cabir too went to Navya and
asked forgiveness for this mess he created
by holding his ears. Navya being soft
hearted couldn't keep an angry face with
him for long , gave up and accepted his
sorry. As they say nothing matters when
all that ends well.
Everyone was in a cheerful mood when
they leave Cabir's house. Manik dropped
Nandini and Navya and Dhruv followed
Aliya's car as its too late in the night.
Cabir stayed in his house for the cleanup
and promised to reach Manik's house as
early as possible for Manik's big day.
Abhimanyu took the leave making a
promise of meeting again.
It's a very beautiful mid morning the sun
already risen with lots of clouds as its the
month of October but because , it's
Nandini's most awaited day of her life , all
the members of the family let her sleep
and make her rest as much as she wants.
She has to look at her best today.
Chachi came in her room and moved the
curtains as usual.
"Nandu uth ja... Dekh 11 banne waale
hai... Aur dulhan hi soyi padhi hai..."
Chachi was picking up her mehndi clothes
from yesterday and she is adjusting her
room.
"Nandu tune apne kapdon ki packing bhi
nahi ki... Nandu uth ja bache..." She sat
at the edge of the bed.
Nandini stretch her hands and as Chachi
sat on the bed she got up and change her
position and lies down putting her head in
chachi's lap.
" Teri chuda pehnane ki rasam bhi hona
hai... Ab tere mama tou koi hai nahi tou...
Bhai ko pehnana padrga... Tou Rishab
pehna dega..."
This was chachi's everyday routine to
inform Nandini about the whole day's
events.
"But Chachi hum ne tou yeh rasam kabhi
nahi ki..." Nandini asked still keeping her
eyes closed.
"Haan na but tere sasural waale Punjabi
hai na... Meri tarha... Issi liye... Nyonika
Bhabi ne subah call karke kaha ki Teri yeh
rasam bhi puri Kare..." Chachi said.
"Acha tu jaldi se uth ja aur Naha le...
Rasam ke baad tujhe tayyaar bhi hona
hai... Pheron ka mahurat 4 baje ka nikla
hai... Hamare paas ziyada time nahi
hai..." She added.
"Itni jaldi..." Nandini was not in a mood to
get up...
"Pagli... Jaldi Kahan itne saare Kaam
hai... Aur abhi tune apni packing bhi Nahi
ki hai..." Chachi was caressing her hair
with so much of affection.
"Packing ki Kya zaroorath hai...main baad
mein aakar apna saamaan le jaaungi..."
Nandini was being very lazy coz she slept
very late in the night.
"Chachi... Ek baat batayiye... Chura rasam
jo hai Woh mama ya Bhai hi karte hai aur
Koi Nahi..." Nandini asked
"Haan... Achcha tu jaldi se uth ja mujhe
bahut saare Kaam hai..." Chachi said and
she left the room.
Nandini think something and called
somebody.
"Hello..." Someone answered..
N- Cabir... Main Nandini... Are you
awake..
C- ya Nandini I'm awake... Main Tumhe
call Karne he waala tha...
N- kyun.
C- Woh kal ke liye... I'm sorry... Mera
intention Nahi tha Tumhe hurt Karne ka... I
don't know party kaise itni Wild ho gayi...
And on top of that Soha bhi wahan aa
gayi...
N- Cabir... Cabir... Relax...calm down...
Nandini stopped him in the middle
N- I can understand... You don't have to
say sorry... Hota hai aisa kabhi kabhi...
Don't worry and I'm not mad at you...
C- really... You don't know how relieved
I'm feeling... Thank you... For
understanding.
N- you didn't ask me why I called you..
C- Arey Haan why did you all me...
N- remember you told me right ki I'm your
sister...
C- of course I remember... Yeh bhi koi
bhulne ki baat hai...
N- tou bhai hone ka ek farz nibhana hai..
C- Haan bolo Kya Karna hai...Cabir was
excited
N- actually according to Punjabi rituals...
"And she explained him everything
N- so will you do tha honor with Rishab as
my brother.
C- Nandini... Aaj Tumne mujhe emotional
kar diya... Maine Tumhe apni behen Sirf
kaha hi Nahi but mana bhi hai... I'll be
really very honored to this ritual... What
time I have to be there.
N- in two hours.
C- ok I'll be there.
After hanging up the phone Nandini went
into the shower.
In Malhotra Mansion, There's a lot of
hassle bustle going on around because of
the decorations last touch ups and
everyone is busy in something or the
other. Nandini is going to come today as
the daughter in law of the house.
Upstairs in Manik's room Sun rays are
peeking from the Curtains eagerly waiting
to come inside. But the Prince Charming
of Nandini is still in deep sleep like a baby
on his stomach covered half of his body
with a duvet. His upper body Is exposing
from his vest.
Nyonika came in his room and saw her
son sleeping peacefully like a baby. A
smile formed on her lips looking at him.
She went and opened the curtains and
came to Manik.
Manik covers his eyes with a pillow
hiding from the bright light.
"Manik... Common get up... It's almost 11
o'clock... You have to get ready..." She
came and sat near his head.
He put his head on her lap and said.
"Sone dou na mom... I want to sleep
more..." He hide himself in her lap.
"Shaadi hone waali hai... But abhi bhi you
act like a child..." She very lovingly caress
his hair.
"Shaadi hone ke baad bhi main aapka ladla
hi rahunga and I'll sleep in your lap
whenever I want..." He said making
himself more comfortable.
"Manik... Tell me something... Are you
happy with everything..." Nyonika asked.
He opened his eyes and turned to face her
still lying on her lap.
"I'm very happy mom... And I'm thankful
to you... To find Nandini for me... I really
love her... Waise Aapko kaise pata tha ki
meri pasand Kya hai..." He asked raising
his eyebrows.
"I'm your mother... I know mere bachon ki
khushi kis mein a hai... "She felt proud of
herself.
" Haan manna tou padega... That you
know me and Mukti inside out... I Love
you maa for that... He lift his head and
gave a kiss on her cheeks..
"Wah wah... Akele akele maa bete ek
doosre se pyaar jata rahe hai... Forgetting
me... This is not fair..." Mukti barged into
the room and said out loud.
She came and lie down beside Manik
resting her head on the other side of
Nyonika's lap.
"Aur Nahi tou Kya... Mom loves me more
than you..." Manik started to tease her
covering Nyonika taking most of her lap.
"Mom dekho na... Bhai is bothering me
again... " Mukti whines and makes face.
"Oh ho... Ab tum dono phir se shuru mut
ho jaao... Mom loves both of you
equally... So don't fight..." Nyonika
caresses both of their heads and thanks
God in her mind to keep,her family intact
like this forever.
Mukti stick her tongue out and tease
Manik.
"Acha... Now both of you get up... You
guys have to get ready... And Mukti you
and Aliya has to go to the parlor... So
hurry up..." They both got out of the bed..
In Murthy Villa. All of the family
members were gathered in the hall to do
the chuda chadhao rasam. Nandini was
sitting on the stage and Amms and
Narendra' were sitting beside her.
Chachi called Rishab to do the honors. As
Nandini do not have any mama(maternal
uncle) so Rishab will do the rasam.
When the rasam was about to start
someone call from the audience.
"Ek minute rukiye... I want to be part of
this rasam and I want to do the honors
too.."
All the people including Chachi , Amms ,
and Narendra looked at the person who it
is.
Cabir was standing with a sweet smile on
his lips.
"Uncle , Chachi Ji , Amms... If you guys
don't mind... I would like to do the honors
to do this rasam... " he asked everybody.
"Maine Nandini Ko apni behen mana
hai...meri koi behen Nahi hai...issi liye
main Nandini ki shaadi mein bhai hone ki
saari rasme nibhana chahta hoo... Agar
aap log sab permission de tou..." Cabir
looked at every one for the answer..
Every body in the hall got emotional
hearing his request.
Navya who was busy with some work
sitting beside Chachi looked at him and
smiled.
She felt so proud at this moment that she
loved this man. Her eyes filled with tears
listening to him.
"Cabir aao son... Hume Kya problem Hogi...
You are most welcome to do the honors... I
think my Nandini is very lucky to got such
a sweet and beautiful family and now she
also have a brother... Common... Join us.."
Narendra said wiping off his tears.
Chachi did all the things what all they have
to do and after soaking the chuda bangles
in the milk Rishab and Cabir puts on the
Bangles in Nandini's both handed. After
they are done one by one all the elders of
the house got up blessed Nandini putting
their hands on her head and touching the
chuda.
When the rasam was done Cabir came to
Nandini and gives a kiss on her forehead
and said
"Thank you so much Nandini... For making
me a part of this ritual and for giving me
importance,..."
"Bhai behno Ko thank you Nahi kehta...
Acha nahi lagta... But choti behno Ko
satate hue ache lagte hai...bother karte
hue... So chill..." Nandini said smiling.
It was almost 2pm and Everyone was
getting ready to leave for the marriage
hall. Nandini was very nervous she was
ready but she is feeling so uneasy.
'Aiyyappa... This feeling... I don't know...
Mujhe Kuch samajh Nahi aaraha... Main.
Kya karun... Why am I feeling so
restless... Manik ne bhi aaj call Nahi
kiya... Maybe he is busy in work...'
Nandini was talking to herself pacing in
her room.
Natasha has sent a beautician specially
for her so that she can get ready
comfortably in the house. The beautician
makes her the most beautiful bride in this
whole world and she already left. Navya
too got ready and went to other room for
do the finishing touch ups.
Nandini was sitting on her bed when she
heard the door opened and she looked up.
Narendra was standing in the doorway to
come inside.
"Papa... Aap wahan kyun khade hai...
Ander aaiye na..." Nandini went to bring
her dad inside her room.
Narendra came and sat on the bed ,
Nandini sat next to him. He puts a hand on
Nandini's head and said.
"Nandu... Aaj tum apne asli ghar chali
jaaogi... Aur main akela ho jaaunga...
Tum mujhe bahut yaad aaogi..." Narendra
eyes get moist while he was talking.
"Papa agar aap aisi baatein karenge tou
main Aapko chodke kahin nahin jaaungi..."
Nandini grab him by putting her head on
his shoulder. Her eyes got moist too.
"Yeh tou duniya ka dastur hai beta... That
a daughter has to go to her husbands
house after she gets married leaving all
her childhood memories in her fathers
house... So,that the fathers can live his
life in those sweet and lovely
memories..." By putting his hands on
Nandini's head he asked.
"You also have to follow that rule... But I
want to ask you something..."
"Haan papa ask na..." Nandini very
innocently asked.
"Tell me very Frankly... Are you happy with
this rishta... Or have I forced my decision
on you..." Narendra asked curiously.
"Nahi papa... You didn't force your
decision on me... And I'm very happy with
this relation... In fact I am thankful to you
that... Because of you I have find an
understanding and loving LIFE PARTNER in
Manik... And even I'm glad that you took
this decision for me... " she said still
keeping her head on his shoulder.
"You know what Nandu... You lift off a
very huge burden from my shoulders... I'm
relieved now... And bless you that may
God keep you always happy and healthy in
your new house with your husband and his
family..." After saying this he kissed her
forehead.
"I bought you something..." He took out a
box and gave it to her.
"This is your mothers... When she got
married she wore this... And she wanted
you to wear this in your marriage... This is
her blessing for you..." He passed the box
to her.
