Third Person

Hayes woke up to a slam of a door at midnight, he was waiting for Scarlett to come home since he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep if she wasn't safe and sound in her bed sleeping.

Scarlett was practically re-living the date she just had with Nate because it was that great.

"Scarlett is that you?" Hayes asked as he appeared in the hallway. Scarlett began to take her heels off which were exhausting to have on.

"Yup it's me" she replied putting down her heels on the side "why aren't you asleep?" she asks going into the kitchen for a bottle of water

"Couldn't sleep" Hayes simply replied to her "ah" is all she said as she sat on the marbled counter

"How was your date?" He asked trying not to sound to eggar to know "why? you jealous Benjamin?" She mocks him

"Don't call me that" he scolds "but to answer your question no I'm not jealous just trying to start up a conversation" he shrugs sitting on the stool that was there for the island

"Ok Benjamin" she chuckles "it was great actually. he's a really sweet guy" she informs him crushing every hope Hayes had inside of him.

"That's great. I'm glad you had a good time" he manages to say without seeming to crushed.

"Thank you" She says sincerely. There was an awkward silence for about 0.4 seconds before Scarlett broke it.

"I'm tired so I'm ganna get this dress and make up off. I'll see you tomorrow morning" She smiles at Hayes and heads upstairs to her room.

"Fuck" Hayes mumbles to himself "Such an idiot" He adds. He knew at that moment he had lost her for the time being.

He was getting overwhelmed by the situation but decided to relax and head to bed before he stressed out about something he couldn't do anything about to change.

Hayes headed to his room, technically a guest room now basically his, and changed out of his shirt, leaving him shirtless and into some comfy basketball shorts.

Scarlett changed into a big t-shirt leaving her in just her underwear. she had already taken off the make up and was ready for bed.

Hayes laid in bed just staring at the fan on the ceiling above him, thinking about well, you guessed it, Scarlett.

Scarlett on the other hand was doing the same but not thinking about Hayes, thinking about Nate.

It was like a love triangle or so it's called.

But Scarlett knew deep down she had some type of feelings for Hayes, she just doesn't want to open that option again.

Maybe because of trust issues, or other things that came to be within their high school relationship.

But Hayes was ready to re open that option, but really was Scarlett willing to do that even though she didn't think it was right or stick with Nate?

Their relationship was twisted in their own way, love doesn't always grow immediately or maybe, just maybe, one of them isn't thinking clearly.
