Scarlett Rodriguez;

Today was the day I was going to meet up with Hayes to talk.

Maybe work things out - if that is even possible.

I grab my phone and my purse along with my keys from the bowl we have next to the door and head out.

We decided to eat lunch at a not so known diner just for the sake of people seeing me with Hayes and thinking wrong knowing I'm with Jack.

It's about at ten to fifteen minute drive from my house. We agreed that we would meet up and have lunch at twelve.

I got there ten after twelve and I walk in to see Hayes already seated at a booth with a water.

"Hey" I say taking a seat in front of him, he smiles at the sight of me before talking "hey, I thought you weren't coming"

I shake my head "I was the one who asked to meet you first Hayes" I laugh as he does too "right" he mumbled

A waitress came up to us to take our order "a cheese burger with fries please" I order, I might be twenty two but that will always be my to go.

"Same as her" Hayes says and she nods "to drink?" I didn't know honestly "I'll get a Coca Cola" Hayes tells her as she writes it down

"And I'll have a chocolate shake" I smile "whip cream and cherry on top?" I love this place so much already and this is my first time here

"Yes" I say excitedly then realize I sound like a little kid. She doesn't say anything but "you're order will be here in a little" excusing herself afterwards

"Didn't know I was having lunch with Alanis" hayes comments teasingly "well don't we all learn new things ever day" I chuckle

"Yes indeed" he replies laughing "so what did you want to talk about - it's been a few months" he says after a short while of silence

"I'm glad you did but I mean it's surprising that Jack didn't object or something" he quickly adds

The waitress comes with our food and drinks placing them in front of us.

"I couldn't stop thinking about you since the day you come to see me at my door that other day" I mumble "I love you Scarlett and there's nothing that will ever change that - I love you"

"And as do I" is all I manage to say "then what is holding you back, come with me, be with me, let's create a family give Alanis a brother or sister"

I play around with my straw stirring it around ever so slowly "Jack" I softly say

"Leave him, Scarlett?" He asks, I hum in response to let him know I was listening "do you love Jack, do you truly love him?" He asks

I do, I think I do.

"Because if that's the case I'll leave you alone and you won't hear from me ever again" he says confidence in his voice "would you really?" I ask looking at him in the eyes

"Yes, I would. If you want to be happy with Jack without me in the picture then so be it. just say that you love him and I'm out of your life in a flash"

I could tell he was serious, he would do what he is saying, but yet again there was small hope in his eyes that I wouldn't say I loved Jack.

"Jack" I say in shock as he sits on the couch "hey babe" he says getting up and coming up to me placing a kiss on my forehead hugging me in the process

"What are you going home so early?" I ask sitting down on the couch, I was upstairs for most of the afternoon after lunch with Hayes "go out early" he chuckles

"Oh that's nice" I say heading into the kitchen grabbing a water from the fridge Jack following behind

"Yup" he says "hey babe?" I ask "yeah" he replies "no nothing never mind" I smile his eyebrows furrowing but he shrugs

"I'm ganna go take a hot shower, I'm exhausted" I inform him, he smiles and heads back into the living room

I head upstairs and put my phone on my nightstand heading into the restroom to take a long hot shower.

Once I finish I change into my pajamas and head out of the bathroom once I'm finished with my usual stuff

I walk out to see Jack on the bed with my phone now on the bed next to Jack as he silently stares at the wall ahead of him
