Chapter 27: I love you, good bye

Dexter's POV

"Dexter, can we talk?" Why would she want to talk to me? I stared at her beautiful face. Wala paring nagbabago. Pero may nagbago na sakin....hindi na tumitibok ang puso ko pag nakikita ko siya.

"Where?" Tanong ko. She just nodded and I followed her outside the campus. We went to the ice cream shop.

She ordered mango ice cream. Still her favorite. I ordered vanilla. We sat there. It's so awkward and she noticed that's why she spoke.

"So...how are you and Daniella?" Tanong niya. I shrugged.

"What do you want to say, Antonette?" Na shock siya at the same time nalungkot cause I called her Antonette.

"Tris--"

"Don't call me Tris." I stared at her with a blank face. Only Daniella can call me Tris. She sighed.

"About our break-up. The reason for it." Break-up? Please, I've moved on.

"I've moved on. No need to tell the reason 'cause I don't care." Tumayo ako, akmang lalabas na ng shop ng nag salita siya.

"Please....Just hear me out!" Tiningnan ko siya, tear escaped from her eyes. Umupo ako then strared at her with my famous blank face.

"Make it fast, I still need to talk with Daniella." Sabi ko. She smiled bitterly.

"So, she's the lucky girl?" Tanong niya.

"Yeah. Just tell what you wanna tell."

"Do you remember Lolo Zic?" Tanong niya. Yes, siya yung pinakatutol sa relasyon namin dati.

"Yeah, then?"

"Ayaw na ayaw niya sayo. He wants me to marry his bestfriend's grandson." Bestfriend's grandson? So that means.....

"Yes. He wants me to marry Drake." So that's why. But sorry, 'cause I don't really care.

"So, when's the wedding?" Tanong ko. I'm really getting impatient here. I want to talk to Daniella. But, Of course, I need to hear the reason of my first heartbreak.

"Postponed." Sagot niya.

"Are you here to try to get me back?" Tanong ko.

"Yes, but I know that you're happy with her, so I supposed no. I'm not planning to ruin your relationship." She smiled sadly. That's why I FELL for this girl.

"Good to hear that. I have a question."

"What is it?"

"Don't get me wrong but...why didn't you fight for me?" Tanong ko. Realtalk: I'm really thankful that she didn't fight for me. 'Cause if she did, I wouldn't meet Daniella.

"Cause Lolo Zic gets everything he wants. I tried to fight for you but it didn't change his mind." She reasoned out. I just nodded.

"But you're thankful that lolo Zic didn't change his mind right? 'Cause you wouldn't meet Daniella." She voiced out my thoughts. I nodded and smiled while imagining Daniella. I'm so stupid that I saw a tear fell from Antonette's eyes. Psh...Why am I so insensitive?

"Hey. Thank you for clearing the past. But let's not talk about it. Let's live in the present. Yeah, I've move on, and I think you haven't. I'm sorry but my heart was already taken by Daniella. May iba pa namang lalake dyan that's better than me. I'm sure you'll find the one who's for you someday. Besides, bagay kayo ni Drake." I stood and smile. She just stared past me, deep in thoughts.

I went out the ice cream shop but then was stopped by Antonette.

"Wait. Thank you. Even though you broke my heart, but still thank you. I hope you're happy with her. And hey, if you need help, just approach me. I'll be happy to help." Sabi niya.
I smiled.

"Last request before you go. May I hug you? Just for a minute? Please?" I understand her. Hindi madaling mag let go. Pero nagawa niya. I idolized her kasi sobrang sakit na nito para sakanya. She remained strong even though she's dying inside.

She hugged me. No heart beats. I didn't hug her back. I dunno why. I just stood there, waiting for her to let go.

"Once I let go, it's all over. Once I let go, we'll go back as friends. You told me to move on pero mahirap. Sobra." Napatingin siya sa kaliwa, still hugging me.

"Wag ka titingin sa kaliwa." Sabi niya. Pero bakit ba tayo ganun? Pag sinabing wag gawin, ginagawa parin. Tumingin ako sa kaliwa.

At nakita kong nakayakap si Drake at Daniella. Nakatayo lang dun si Daniella, pero agad niyang tinulak si Drake. As usual, I wore my famous blank face.

I walked past them, ignoring Daniella. She called me but I kept on ignoring her. She called me again then I faced her.

"What?" I wore my blank face.

"Ano bang problema mo?" Tanong niya. Si Drake. Bakit ka niyakap ni Drake ha?

"Wala." Nagpatuloy na ulit ako sa paglalakad. Tinawag niya ulit ako at lumingon nanaman ako.

"Dexter...I-i..." She's stuttering and blushing.....

It's freakin' cute!

"What?" I tried my best to remain in my blank face.

"Dexter, I--uhmm..." Ano ba gusto niya sabihin? At dahil ito nga ako, pro actor, tumalikod na ako. Nagpatuloy ako sa paglalakad ng sumigaw siya.

"TRIS DEXTER SANCHEZ, I LIKE YOU!" Napatigil ako sa sinabi niya. Unti unting nag sisink in yung sinabi niya. Ano daw? She likes me?

Lumingon ako at naglakad papunta sakanya. Until sobrang konting inches na lang ang faces namin sa isa't isa. I held her chin and raised her face a little bit so our eyes could meet. Then it met.

"Repeat that." Napalunok siya.

"Ha--a? Di-ba-a, n-nasabi k-ko na saiy-yo?" Nauutal niyang sabi. Binitawan ko yung chin niya at akamang tatalikod ng magsalita siya.

"Okay. I like you Tris Dexter Sanchez." Napa smile ako. Lumingon ulit ako sakanya. I held her cheek and stared at her eyes.

"I like you too Daniella. In fact, I'm inlonve with you."

Antonette's POV

Then I saw him walking towards them. But before he went there, I whispered something. Something that I really felt.

"I love you. Good bye."
