February 2nd

The next day was a Tuesday meaning Karasu can sleep in since the children and their parents have school and work to go too.

Knock
Knock

Karasu groaned rolling over to lay on her stomach snuggling into her pillows.

Knock
Knock

With a sigh she got up out of bed, putting on her black silk robe with gold dragons on the back, making her way to the door.

Knock
Knock

"Enough with the knocking..." Karasu blinked seeing a guy around her age with short, neatly-combed light brown hair and brown eyes smiling down at her despite it being early in the morning.

"Um.. Are you lost? Are you looking for someone?" She asked crossing her arms starring at the guy.

"I'm Tatara Totsuka, you are Karasu Nishi, right?"

"I am but I don't know you."

"Ah, you met my friends yesterday. They helped you and you gave them pies as a thanks."

"Oh, your those guys friend, huh? Is there something wrong? I don't understand why you're here this early in the morning."

"It's only 10am."

"It's still early." She deadpanned. Tatara just smiled at her making her sigh.

"Is that it? Just wanted to know who I am?"

"Not at all. I just came to say thank you for the pies they tasted really good."

"Well, thank you. I made them myself." She said running a hand through her hair.

"Your welcome. Well, I better go. See you around!" Karasu watched him leave her floor.

"What a strang guy.." She mumbled closing and locking her door heading back to bed.

*~*

Hours later Karasu was now fully awake and well rested. She was outside in the fenced in playground that her building had as she played with the kids while she babysitted them for their parents who are making dinner for their family.

"Miss Kara! There's a man here for you!" Turning her head to the gate she saw the same guy from this morning holding a bag.

"Get away from the gate, Miro." The little boy nodded running off to his friends.

"Hello again, Karasu! I was walking by and I thought we can have lunch together. I made everything myself."

"... Your pretty strange you know that, right?"

"That's what King and Izumo said."

"King?"

"Yeah, I'm a Clansman of the Red King, Mikoto Suoh. So, lunch?" He asked holding up a two bento boxes.

"Is that all you wanted? Too see if I was free for lunch?"

"Yup."

"Your lucky. I didn't have lunch so I'm starving." She opened the gate letting him in. They sat down at a picnic table and started eating their lunch while watching the kids play.

"This is actually pretty good. Your a good cook."

"Thank you."

"So, why did you really come here?"

"I came here to see if you can visit a bar where we hang out."

"A bar? I'm only eighteen, you know."

"I'm nineteen going on twenty in two weeks on the fourteenth."

"Well, aren't you a lucky guy. Born on Valentine's day." Tatara scratched his cheek with a smile.

"Yeah, I got a lot of chocolates when I was little because of that."

"Lucky you."

"What about you? Didn't you get chocolates?"

"I was homeschooled, so, I didn't get chocolates. I didn't have friends or my family, so... Yeah.." Karasu took a bite of some rice looking at the children that ran around the playground.

"No friends or family? What do you mean by that?"

"Well, I'm a Strain, also know as a Beta Strain."

"Really? Then you must be strong, huh?"

"Well, my powers are healing."

"What can you heal?" Karasu starred at him to see that he was really intrested in your powers.

"I can heal any human and animal of any injury but not sicknees like the comman cold. You just have to deal with that on your own."

"That's sounds really cool if you think about it. Being able to heal someone or an animal."

"Yes but that doesn't mean you can get hurt and come running to me for help." She said taking a bite of an omelette as Tatara pouted.

"It's strange."

"What is?"

"I just met you this morning, now we're eating lunch together... Feels like I've known you even though I don't exsactly know you.."

"I get that all the time too but you know what?"

"What?" Karasu looked at him confused to see him smiling at her.

"Starting today I'll be your friend.

"You'll... Be my friend?" He smiled holding out his fist, he chuckled seeing the confused look as she starred at his hand. She looked at him and held out her hand which he bumped his fist against the palm of her hand.

'You reminded me a little of our King, Karasu...'

"Thank you for being... My first friend..."

"It's nothing really, besides everyone needs a friend." Tatara smiled at her.

"Okay, everyone! Time to come inside!" A voice yelled out causing Karasu to turn her head to see the children's mothers at the now open gate.

"I'm guessing this is a gated park for this building."

"Yeah, only an adult can open that gate for someone who doesn't live here. The people that do live here have a key for that gate." Karasu finished her food placing the lid back on giving it to Tatara who was finishing up his lunch.

"Thank you for bringing me lunch, if you come over next time I'll make an extra bento for you."

"I'll come back tomorrow then."

"Just don't come early in the morning."

"I'll remeber that."
