May 27th - Friday Afternoon

A week has passed since the threat was made which caused both Yuki and Mayumi to live upstairs above the bar. Karasu had been sleeping in Mikoto's room as the nightmares continued to haunt him causing him to lose control, he almost burned the place down if it wasn't for Karasu rushing into his room before it could happen.

"Mikoto? Are you sure your alright? Karasu told me you've been having nightmares since Monday." Izumo asked. He was growning more concern ever since his bar almost got burned down on Wednesday. Ever since than Karasu had been sleeping in his bed to keep an eye on the amber eyed man.

"I'm fine." He said taking a sip of alcohol as he starred into space, turning his head to the left he watched as Karasu slept against the bar next to him.

"She's been staying up all night in case you had a repeat like on Wednesday night. Stubborn girl." Izumo chuckled when she nuzzled into his hand when he moved her hair away from her face.

"Totsuka, come and take Kara upstairs so she can get some sleep."

"Okay, don't worry. Come on, Kara. Time to go to bed." Tatara softly said waking her up. Karasu face scrunched up before opening her eyes.

"Hm? What?" She sat up straight starring at Tatara with sleepy eyes.

"Come on, we know your tired." Karasu shook her head.

"I'm not tired—" She covered her mouth as she yawned.

"You were saying?" She pouted, holding out her arms.

"Carry me." Tatara chuckled turning around as Karasu wrapped her arms over his shoulders, around his neck as his hands tucked under her legs before they walked upstairs. After a few minutes Tatara came down staires taking the seat Karasu was sitting in.

"She completely knocked out once she laid down."

"Where did you put her?"

"In King's room." He smiled.

"Boys.." The three men heard the voice of Karasu's mother.

"Ms. Yuki, is something wrong? You look a bit pale." Tatara asked concerned for the older woman as she gave them a tired smile.

"I need a huge favor to ask of you three. It involves Karasu."

"Okay, come sit down." Izumo gestured his hand to the chair next to Tatara. After taking a seat she let out a deep, tired sigh.

"Take care of Karasu for me."

"I... Don't understand?"

"I'm dying." She gave then tired smile.

"I have lung cancer, it's aggressive and it won't go away. I also have kidney failure.

"How long have you had them?"

"I had the kidney thing for about a year now, the cancer for two years."

"Don't you have medication for that? Your doctor gave some to you, right?"

"I did but the medication can do so much for her now." Mayumi said sitting next to Yuki.

"They medicine isn't helping you, is it."Izumo frowned when Yuki shook her head.

"No, they're not."

"How long until..." Tatara couldn't finish his sentence.

"Next month, maybe even to the end of this month. Give it take a few days." Mayumi said taking out a cigeratte letting it hang from her lips searching for her lighter when one appeared lighting the end of the cigarette, looking up she saw that Izumo was the one who lit it up with just a snap of his fingers.

"I knew there was something different about you guys."

"Kings, huh?"

"You know about the Kings?" Yuki nodded her head.

"Yes, my mother told me stories about them. She even met four of the seven Kings."

"Really! Which Kings did she meet?" Tatara asked. Izumo and Mikoto were also curious.

"She meet the First and Second Kings during the war. Then she came across the Third and Fourth Kings before the Kugutsu Crater happened. She died six years ago."

"Whoa! Really? King, you hear that?"

"I'm guessing Mikoto is the Red King."

"You guessed right. But I must ask, was your mother—"

"A Strain? Yes, she was just like Karasu. She had healing powers."

"So you knew about Karasu's powers?"

"Of course I did. It was back when she was released from the hospital. A feeling of release rushed through me when she hugged me. I knew she took after my mother than I did."

"You aren't a Strain?"

"No. It skipped me, it also skipped my sons. Actually, my ex-husbands youngest niece, Yuzuki Nishi, is a Strain as well. She can manipulate water."

"So that's why Karasu was always with her at the pool party."

"Yeah, she was scared when she found out she had this power, she wouldn't get in the pool until Karasu talked to her."

"She has a way with people."

"She does, but keep an eye on her. If she's anything like me when I was her age, she'll be a handful."

"Handful is an understatement."

"She's a free spirit."
