Starfire's POV
Dick and the other Titans explained to me the rules on this planet. However, I still feel bad for what I did to that human. But, as Beast Boy says it's "Water under the bridge" what ever that means.
Weeks later, after countless mission without our leader on the mission I started to ask myself what is the hold up, as the Earthlings say. I went into his room to see him asleep with papers around him. "Dick?" I called out to him, and he awoke suddenly not knowing what's going on "Oh, hey Star." he said, stretching his body "How's the superhero identity coming along?" I asked, and he just sighed and looked at his papers "I got nothing. I'm looking for an identity that says I'm a hero. That I'm not just some kid who's in the hero's shadow anymore." Dick explained, which gave me an idea. I sat down next to him "On Tamaran, there was a soldier named Dann'r who was looked at as just a private who wasn't going to amount to anything close to a warrior. He was belittled and bullied by the other soldiers, which inevitably made him resign from our army. He then created a vigilante identity, named Nightwing, and single handedly defeated our enemies and saved our planet. Now, he's a legend our children look up to and our soldiers try to imitate." I told the story, and left. I hope I have helped him in his journey to find his new self.
Nightwing's POV
Later that day, there was another crime in progress. I didn't even bother to come out and check what it is because I couldn't go out and fight even if I wanted. "God Damnit!" I exclaimed and slammed my fist on the table. I then thought of the story Starfire told me. This Nightwing guy resembles what I'm looking for, plus his name is pretty cool. Also, I did draw a pretty cool black suit with a blue bird in the middle. Screw it, let's give it a shot!
I made the suit as fast as I could and went to help. When I got there, they were taking out the bad guys, but in a slow pace. Guess they need a little energy booster! "Hey cat burglars, ready for the worst beat down of your life?" I exclaimed, back to my up beat attitude. "Shoot this clown!" one guy said, and two started shooting but I jumped over the bullets and threw my birderang at their hands so they dropped their guns. I then split kicked them in the face, and grappled another burglar over to me and clotheslined him. I then walked up to the last one, and he put his hands up ready to fight. Does this guy really think he could go toe-to-toe with me? He swung at me, but I caught his fist and just smiled "You made a bad mistake dude." I said, and punched him in the face, knocking him out.
The Titans looked at me, wondering what the heck I'm wearing "Like the new gear?" I asked "Well its a step up from the Robin suit, so yeah." Cyborg answered. Then, the cop asked who I was, and I had to think of an answer. I thought of Star's story again. I'm pretty sure this Dann'r guy wouldn't mind me borrowing his name, so I said very confidently "Nightwing!"
