CHAPTER 2

A sudden thirst led Hyerin's eyes fluttered open heavily that night. She dragged her legs out of the bed and strode her way out of the room to wet her dry throat. She slowly climbed down the stairs and make a way to the kitchen.

Her legs stepped on the final phase of the ladder when she heard something coming from the kitchen. Her eyes automatically fresh by that weird sound and it weirder, even more, when there is no light turned at the kitchen at this moment. Who was that?

Hyerin leaned her body against the wall without making any sound and stealthy looked at the kitchen. She almost screamed when a guy in black caught her eyes but quickly shut her mouth or otherwise, she will be dead meat.

Oh, God! Was that... a thief?

Hyerin wandered around to find something useful she could use as a weapon. In case that guy tries to attack her. At least she has something to use as a shield or sort of.

And when her eyes caught on the umbrella that was hung on the wall, her hands silently reaching the umbrella and grabbed it tight despite his nervousness.

Okay, if that thief tried to attack her, she will spread the umbrella and use as a shield but if he doesn't try to attack her, she will be the one who will hit his head with this. Hyerin nodded, felt confident with her strategies.

Hyerin taciturnly waited behind the wall until that guy got out of the kitchen. Once he coming out from the kitchen, she will attack him. While controlling her breathe, she prayed nonstop for her safety.

Just you wait, bastard! I'll not let you go. I'll make sure you'll rot in jail after this. Huh!

What he was doing in the kitchen for so long? Did he don't want to go home? Even though he doesn't have food at home, why he should choose this house to steal? Aigoo, because of him, she couldn't wet her dry throat at this moment.

I'll surely punish you for this suffered, bad jerk!

After which, Hyerin's ears caught a footstep approaching her. She automatically stood in ready position whilst tighten her grip on the umbrella. Right after the enemy appeared behind the wall, without waiting any longer, she spread the umbrella directly on her target's face with a loud scream.

"Yah! You thief! Come on! Do you think you can attack me? Huh, just dream on, bastard! I'm not afraid, you little rogue. How dare you enter this house and want to steal our food. You know, I'm dying to cook all the food today and now you want to take it for free? If you're hungry, go to work and earns some money, idiot! Stupid! Crazy bastard! Where did you get a key to get inside here? Stupid! Better you surrender before I call the house owner and, yes! The police too. Put your hands on your head quickly!" She roared resentfully.

The thief's face was covered by the umbrella. He tried to evade Hyerin's attack but her strong pushed make it hard for him to grab the umbrella.

"Yah! Are you crazy? Stop!" he said.

"No! I'll not stop until you surrender!" Hyerin exclaimed.

"Yah!" He said. While gathering all his strength, this time he managed to grab the umbrella and it was enough to make Hyerin gape in surprise. Omo!

He seized the umbrella from Hyerin and tossed it on the floor. Hyerin speechless. She looked at the umbrella before staring back at the guy in front of her. And when her eyes fell on that guy face...

"You... you..." Her eyes were wider than ever.

"What?" That guy responded.

"Are you just... coming out from a... jungle?" Hyerin stuttered while her eyes inspecting that guy from head to toes.
