Park Hyerin hopped out of a taxi as the car stopped nearby one small building. The very first thing she could see right after the taxi left is the familiar scene that she always saw almost every past month. Hyerin sighed heavily before speedily her steps toward peoples at the scene.
"It's been four months you didn't pay the rent. You promised to pay it this month but now, what I got is the same reasons. I'll be at a loss if this happens every time, you know right?" said the ahjumma angrily.
"I'm sorry and really sorry. I promise I'll pay for it as soon as possible but I need more time for that. Please." The other old lady begged. The angry ahjumma who known to be a house owner looked at her with fierce eyes before release a big sigh.
"There is no more time. I had to chase you away from here. Starting from tomorrow, I want all of you to get out of this house. This is my final decision!" avowed the house owner determined. The other old lady shocked to hear the decision.
"But..."
"Ahjumma!" A girl voice resonated nearby, led those two pair of eyes to looked at her.
"Hyerin..." the old lady said. Hyerin approached the lady and hold her hand before she tossed her eyes to the house owner.
"Ahjumma, please don't do this to us. We don't have a place to go if you're chasing us away from this house. This is the only place that we have to seek refuge. Please ahjumma. I promise I'll pay the rent for you next week. Please..." said Hyerin begged. She hoped the owner can considering her word kindly.
"What if you're not?" The owner tossed the question back to Hyerin. Hyerin hadn't answer directly, instead, she looked at the other old lady next to her, which is her mother before the look was turned back at the owner.
"I'll accept any of your decision." Hyerin told. Although she also unsure either what she said is the right decision or not, but she had to say something.
Her mother, Mrs. Park looked surprised with her daughter's statement. "Hyerin-ah..."
"Its okay eomma, I'm sure I can pay it. Don't worry." Hyerin replied with confidence. The house owner stared at them while having some thought by herself before her eyes darted on Hyerin.
"Arraso, I'll wait until next week. But if you still don't do that. Please leave this house as soon as possible. Remember, just one week." Said the house owner. Hyerin sighed with relief.
"Okay! I will." Said Hyerin happy. The house owner then left them. Mrs. Park looked back at her daughter.
"Are you sure what you've just said?" she asked.
"Nae, I'm sure. Don't worry eomma. I know what I did. You just relax and be cool. I will settle this matter in my own way. Don't ever burden your mind to think about it. Arraso?" Hyerin tried to remain calm even though, only God knew how worried she was.
She could say like everything was all right, but she also didn't know how to start it. She didn't even know either she can get the money in one week or not.
Indeed, her family fate will depend on how she can get the money before next week.
If she couldn't pay the rent after a week, it meant she and her family will be chase away from this house and the possibility to live under the bridge is bigger.
Hyerin looked at her mother and curled a smile when nobody knew what hiding behind that beautiful smile.
