The next day I was woken up by my phone ringing. I groggily sat up and answered without checking the caller ID.

"Hello?", I asked, my voice coming out tired.

"We're you seriously asleep until now?", a voice asked, laughing.

"Mike?", I asked.

"The one and only. Anyways, are we still up for the bonfire today?", he asked.

"Mhm", I hummed sleepily.

"Okay, well right now its 1:30, we'll pick you guys up at 3. How does that sound?", he said.

It was 1:30 already? I looked over at Emily and saw she was softly snoring away.

Well, we did stay up until 2 in the morning last night.

"Yeah, see you then", I said.

"Okay. Bye Jess", Mike said. I mumbled a 'bye' back and then hung up.

I gently shook Emily's shoulders.

"Em. Wake up", I said. She stirred and then grumbled something before going back to sleep.

"Em", I whined, shaking her a little faster.

"I don't even like apples..", she mumbled sleepily. I rolled my eyes.

"Emily!", I said, louder this time. She jolted a little and sat up, frowning.

"What?", she asked, her voice coming out all groggy.

"We have to get ready for the bonfire at the beach today. They're coming at 3", I said.

She rubbed her eyes and pulled her phone off of its charger.

"Wow, its 1:35", she said. I nodded. "Yeah. I'm gonna shower", I said.

"Me too. I'll use the other bathroom", she said and stretched before pulling herself out of bed.

I grabbed some clothes and went in, locking the door behind me. I set my clothes on the counter and turned on the water.

I quickly stripped down and stepped into the warm water. I sighed in relief and grabbed some shampoo.

After cleansing myself, I shut off the water and dried myself off. I quickly changed and then dried my hair.

It immediately went into its natural wavy mess and I sighed, not really wanting to straighten it.

I grabbed some gel and rubbed a small amount on my hands. I ran it through my hair and let my bangs fall into my face.

I applied a little bit of eyeliner and mascara and then grabbed my dirty clothes and headed out.

I tossed them into the hamper and went over to my drawer. I grabbed a pair of socks and slipped them on, along with some Converse.

Just as I finished lacing up my shoes, Emily walked through my door.

She had her hair up in a neat ponytail and was wearing a black tank top with dark blue denim shorts.

Here I was in skinny jeans and a hoodie.

We were so different sometimes.

"Ready?", I asked.

"I just need my shoes", she mumbled. I watched as she slipped on purple Vans and then a few bead bracelets.

"I think I'm good. I have my bathing suit underneath this", she said.

"You should probably pack a bag with a towel and some clothes to change into", I suggested.
