Jason's pov

The last three months, me and my three year long girlfriend, Miranda have been fighting and I don't want us to break up so tonight I'm gonna surprise her with a very romantic night. I just got out of the studio and got a dozen red roses. Luke texts me on the way home.

L: you ready?

J: driving home to get her now.

L: k everything is set up.

This is gonna work. It's gonna fix the crap between us. I park my truck and walk inside. "Honey, I'm home!" I call. The house is unusually quiet. And dark. "Babe?" Silence. I go to our room, thinking maybe she's just asleep but she's gone. A note taped to the mirror. I take it off and open it.
Dear Jason, as you know, the last few months has been nonstop fighting and trouble. I think the love between us has just faded over time. I'm sorry but I'm going home. I'll miss you. Love your little Texas cowgirl.
The note falls from my hand in shock. The flowers soon after. I can't believe it. She left. But I was gonna fix everything tonight! Luke calls. I sigh and answer. "Are you coming or what?" "No. She left, man. She was gone when I got home."

I get back to the studio after going on a beer run. "Ok let's get these creative juices flowing." Kurt says, a pad of paper in one hand and a beer in the other. I've got an idea for a song chorus that reminds me of my little Dallas cowgirl.

Miranda's pov

"Yeah I just got home, I'm getting them now. This concert is gonna be great." I say, talking to Cole, my big brother on the phone. I pick up the flyers for the concert. The radio is playing and I hear a familiar voice that makes the flyers fall from my hand and go all over the floor. "Texas was you. It'll always be you!" "That was Jason Aldean's number one hit Texas was you. There's a throwback Thursday if I've ever heard one." I hear Jason laugh lightly. "That song probably has the most meaning to me than any of them I've ever recorded." Oh wow. He wrote a song about me. "Obviously it's about a girl?" The interviewer asks. "Oh yeah. One I'll probably never see again." He says. I fight back the tears. Cole walks in. "Oh uh sorry. I dropped them. I was walking out the door and they slipped!" I gasp. "It's cool. I'll help." He helps me pick them up. Man, hearing his voice again made me miss him so much. Maybe I'll call him up.
