Jason's pov
I woke up with my hand in the water, instantly making me nervous. I cough and look up at the sky. The sun is beating down on me. I'm exhausted, hot and thirsty. "But Mike's countin' on me. I can't let him down!" I ignore my fear of sharks and use my hands to paddle. But I'm out of breath in like five minutes.
*A few hours later*
I wake back up when water splashes in my face. But I'm too groggy to keep my eyes open for long. Then I realize. I'm not on the water anymore. Or my raft. "What's-" I gape sitting up. A girl jumps back. "What the heck? Who... Where am I?" "The island of Ferendeshi." She says. "What?" I stand up. "We don't get outsiders often. My father isn't gonna be happy." Crap. "Wait... Where's my raft?" She points behind me. Thank goodness. "Is this place able to communicate to the US?" "I don't know what that is!" "Dammit!" I can't stay here. This isn't gonna help me. Or the guys! Some weird island tribe or something. "I can't stay here." I say, walking to my raft. "You can't o back out there yet." "What? Why?" I gasp turning around. "You look exhausted. Just rest here for a few days." "I don't have a few days. I have a friend who's got a dangerous cut on his leg. I need to get help to them." "Where are they?" "They're on an island further away from here." "Which direction?" I freeze, realizing to my horror.... I don't know. I've been drifting aimlessly for days. And the times I fell asleep. I look at the sea line. "Oh my God." I whisper horrified. I hit my knees. "I'm so sorry guys." I whisper. "Come on my dad will want to see you. Then we can get you something to eat." While my friends are starving and dehydrated. I'm such an idiot. They were counting on me and I failed them! She pulls my arm. I reluctantly follow her. "What's your name by the way?" "Jayana." "Oh my name's Jason." She pulls a tent flap back. I'm guessing her dad's like the chief or something. "Look I can't stay here long. I've gotta get back to the mainland." "Well you'll die of thirst before you make it anywhere." She introduces me to her dad. "I will allow you to stay for a day. But you tell no one we exist." "Ok." I say nervous.
*A few hours later*
After I guiltily ate and drank, my energy was back up. I walked back to the beach, worried out of my mind. "Hang in there guys." I say. Jayana pulls a boat around. "What's..." "That raft will only get you so far. This one is stocked with food and water." Whoa. "Thanks!" I gasp shocked. "I hope you get where you need to go." I smile. "I can't thank you enough for your generosity." She smiles. "I'm happy to help. Good luck on your voyage." I wave goodbye and get in the boat. That girl is a life saver.
Miranda's pov
Me and Cole were searching on a boat. "Do you think we'll ever find him?" I whisper worried. "We won't stop looking til we do." Cole says, reassuringly patting my shoulder. I rest a hand on my stomach worried. "Hang in there. Wait for daddy." I whisper. After a long day of searching, we came back home. I prayed to find Jason. I prayed he was okay. "Please come home." I whisper, falling asleep, lonely.
